almost thirty two years old, hip hop old school fanatic and zulu
nation member,
addicted to music,... and fashion. born in 1975 in germany. i started listen
to rap music, i watched movies like wildstyle or beat street and read books
about the good old hiphop days,... i was lucky because the shops in the netherlands
close to my city had much more music for me to choose from. so i got my run
dmc, public enemy, epmd or biz markie stuff from there,..
i finished school,.. tried some jobs,.. 1993 i managed to receive informations
about the universal zulu nation in germany but we never connected at that time.
so i got some numbers in new york and called their office over there,.. that
was the day when i met michael "lucky strike" corral who taught me
all i needed to know and who got my mentor over the years. some months later
in early 1994 me - the german kid - joined the new york zulu nation.
proud member since that day. still representing and holding down bronx traditions!
being a zulu for me means to represent and support the nation the best i can.
i try to meet up with bam or other zulus coming to europe,.. to keep or build
up the connections and showing my respect! i used to dj back in the days,..
produced some mixtapes,.. but i never called myself a dj and stepped on any
stage just to have a reason to be part of hiphop or the mighty zulu family.
i used to give my knowledge to kids in my city but i never called it social
work like people do today. it was each one teach one.
the zulu nation always has been proud about their members supporting the family
from all other aspects of life. we got lawyers, doctors, normal working people
and media kids... and that is what i am. i tried to add zulu and hiphop to
my work wherever i could to reach as many interested people as possible. my
bachelors work was entitled "media influence on hip hop culture".
any questions, you haters?
today i have an bachelors of arts (hons.) degree in multimedia arts and and
some other diplomas hanging on my wall,.. i am my own boss doing graphics & designs
for several customers,.. together with my friends at digitalfabrik.
i do the local contacting and urban designs for them,.. also i generate the
urban & lifestyle content for our customers. on the other hand the digitalfabrik supports
me with their work and professionality. i am a artist - more or less. thats
why i need a strong team. besides i edit videos, do flyers and websites,..
all that multimedia kinda stuff! check out some of my
work - i just put another work
photo album online.
one of my clients is germany..s biggest website for hip hop culture - www.mzee.com.
they asked me to be the the head editor for their new hype
blog. on september
1st we launched the official mzee hype blog. check it out!
i travelled the world, met so many nice people, made friends and learned about
their lifes,.. thats why i am here on myspace!
