JJDancer (Jennifer Johnson)

Jennifer D. Johnson began her classical dance training at the age of four and was dancing professionally with ballet companies by the age of eight. When Jennifer left home for college, she wanted to experience the dance world outside of ballet. That is when she became the captain of the NBA Washington Wizards Dance Team, while simultaneously pursuing her B.A. in Psychology from Howard University. She performed all over the world and then found her way to Los Angeles, where she immediately landed her first “LA gig” as a “BET Comic View” dancer. She found that she loved being on camera, so the dancer enrolled in acting classes and consequently found her new passion.

Very shortly after, Jennifer landed a role in the feature film, “Idlewild,” followed by numerous national and international commercials, including Boost Mobile, Target, and Amena Cellular (shot in Europe). In the past year, Jennifer landed a lead role in the upcoming feature film, “Chicago Pulaski Jones,” directed by Cedric the Entertainer. Supporting roles in the upcoming films “Bolden” and “Louis” are also an accomplishment of this year, as well as guest-stars on network television shows such as “Las Vegas,” “The Riches,” and “Mad TV.” Jennifer also held a lead, series regular role on a pilot entitled, “Club Fiji,” shot on location on the Fiji Islands. Jennifer is currently working on her next film, "All About the Dance," in which she plays the role of the lead character, but is also making her debut as the Assistant Director!

In 2008, hosting became an addition to Jennifer Johnson’s resume as she now hosts a weekly segment for AOL’s Fantasy Sports Girl and does red carpet correspondence for such events as the “BET Awards” and Russell Simmons’ “Countdown to Change,” just to name a few.

Dancing for and touring nationally and internationally with artists such as Beyonce, Amerie, Tyrese, Kelly Rowland, Kanye West, and Outkast has also been a highlight of Jennifer’s career, with her latest television dance appearances on “Dancing with the Stars,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “The American Music Awards.” You will also find Jennifer in various print layouts and spreads for national calendars and magazines, namely “KING,” “J’Adore,” and “Today’s Black Woman.”
