Josh Johnston studied Popular Music in the University of Salford, graduating as a pianist, band leader and composer. He is well-known as a versatile musician. He was pianist in the band of Birr singer/songwriter Roesy for six years, performed on stage and record with Kila, Declan O’Rourke, Stewart Agnew, SJ McArdle, Noelie McDonnell, Irish tenor Karl Scully and others. He is the resident organist at the Unitarian Church in Dublin. He released his first solo CD, Three Friends in 2000 and a duo disc with jazz (and classical) violinist David MacKenzie, Notes Home, earlier this year.
He has been writing songs and instrumentals with various co-writers since 2000, and has been looking for ways to broaden the sound of the music. Since January 2008, he has been performing this newer material live with a new band formed from musicians he met and played with elsewhere. Together they are giving conviction and enthusiasm to his new style of music. Josh and the band have made a new CD, Asylum Harbour (to be released 29th October 2008) which captures the excitement and drama of the live show, produced and engineered by Josh himself and Eoin O’Brien.
The band will be performing live around Ireland in October and November 2008. See concert dates for details.
Togetherness will be launching their self-titled debut album this Friday (March 20) at the Button Factory. There will be a performance from the group and a DJ set from Alo Allik. It all starts at 8pm and the admission is €15 which includes a copy of the Togetherness CD! Check out some music from the CD on my page. Would be great to see you there!

Great to meet you here and to hear your wonderful music! Have you got another site tucked away? Must find it. I've been busy this evening..all of a sudden all these PMR Adelphi faces are popping up! I suppose it was only a matter of time. Chris Renshaw kindly supplied lots of contact details..still trying to complete the picture! My memory for names is poor, but the mists are starting to clear...
