J-KA is not just one more of the one more of the pile of producers and DJ's whose name resonates in Andalucía. His relationship with music makes it a bad ass for a seat and therefore an obligatory reference creating scenes. Permanently active in several projects and never completely satisfied with all of them, he always bears in mind that he still has a lot to learn and to share. That explains his full of passion way of approaching to music and his constant desire to go a little further every day, and never lacking reasons…
This way we are able to explain his unique style behind the decks; as he was a turntablist Dj when he started playing with vinyl’s, sharing stage at events with the most important bands of the Spanish hip hop scene. Influenced by hip hop, he spent long hours in front of the decks learning the basic techniques of scratching and cultivating bit a bit his own style, which would later allow him to leave whoever saw him breathless spinning hip hop, minimal, techno or schranz... allowing him to do things that no an ordinary DJ would be able to do with 4/4 beats. Once he had full domain on the decks, they became small for him and he began to produce his own music, swapping from one style to another one with appalling ease. That’s what happens when you live the music beyond labels. He is nowadays completely into electronic dance music and actually working everyday doing his own compositions. He takes advantage of his experience behind the decks, his good sense of taste, his tremendous intuition to know what will be next and obviously his title of technician and sound engineer that helps a lot. In addition to this, he used to be one of the thinking heads of the Astral Tech Collective (www.astraltech.net), created in 2005 and organizer of some of the best raves that have been held in the south of Spain, having an massive success for assistance, and which in only a couple of years managed to become one of the most respected crews of southern Spain, giving out the most intense and hard dance music where commercials clubs couldn't even get remotely close. Not enough happy with this, J-KA has continued organizing and promoting events, either on his own or through collaborations in quite a few venues of the Costa del Sol, becoming a landmark in the province of Malaga. Today is also one of the main parts of the NOPRESET RECORDS collective (www.nopreset.com), which promises to show the public the best ideas, the best jobs and best intentions within the more underground dance music scene, keeping the scene more than alive and kicking over.
J-Ka no sólo es uno más de los tantos productores y dj..s cuyos nombres resuenan en Andalucia. Su vinculación a la música le convierte en culo de mal asiento y por tanto referencia obligada en la creación de escenas. Permanentemente activo en diversas facetas y nunca del todo satisfecho con todas ellas, siempre tiene presente que aún le queda por aprender y por compartir. Esto explica su acercamiento tan apasionado a la música y su constante deseo de llegar un poquito más lejos que ayer, y motivos no le faltan… Así, podemos dejar bien clara su maestría tras los platos pues fué como turntablista como se inició con los vinilos, compartiendo cartel con los grupos más importantes de la escena hip hop patria. Influenciado por entonces por el hip hop, quemó muchas horas ante los platos aprendiendo las técnicas básicas del turntablism y cultivando otras propias que más adelante le sirvieron para dejar con la boca abierta a cualquiera que se acercara a verle pinchar tanto hip hop como más adelante minimal, techno o schranz, al hacer cosas que ningún dj ordinario sería capaz de hacer con ritmos 4 x 4. Una vez que los platos se le quedaron pequeños comenzó a producir su propia música, pasando de un estilo de otro con una facilidad pasmosa. Es lo que tiene vivir la música más allá de las etiquetas. En la actualidad se encuentra totalmente volcado con la música electrónica de baile creando sus propias composiciones. Para ello se sirve de su experiencia tras los platos, su buen gusto estilístico, su tremenda intuición para saber que será lo próximo y su título de técnico e ingeniero de sonido. Además de esto, también es cabeza visible del colectivo Astral Tech (www.astraltech.net), creado en 2005 y organizador desde entonces de algunas de las mejores raves que se han celebrado en Andalucía, gozando todas ellas de un exagerado éxito de asistencia por lo que en tan sólo dos años han conseguido convertirse en uno de las crew más respetadas del sur de España llevando la música de baile más intensa donde las salas comerciales no han llegado ni de lejos. No contento con esto, J-KA ha seguido organizando eventos, bien por su cuenta o mediante colaboraciones, en distintas salas de la costa del sol, convirtiéndose en un referente en la provincia de Málaga. Actualmente también forma parte del colectivo No-Preset (www.nopreset.com) con el que promete mostrar al público las mejores ideas, los mejores trabajos y las mejores intenciones dentro de la escena de música de baile más underground, manteniendo la escena mas que viva y más que coleando.
