Who I'd like to meet: People who will pay me money to be creative. Also, kitties.
"And I-RAN I-RAN so far away..I just ran to America to tour but almost couldn't get away"
Ok so those aren't exactly the right lyrics. However, how amazing is it that 4 boys, whose country's government has banned western music, came out of adversity and impossible means, only to "tour" an album in America which was illegally recorded in their basement?
Don't know what I'm talking about? Well it's this fantastic indie rock band from Iran called Hypernova who have blown away audiences with their unexpected talent! Everyone who listens to them are shocked when they find out that they were born and raised in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This band's music knows no boundaries or sanctions...only the same angst that all teenagers go through around the world!
They were accepted to perform at Austin's infamous SXSW music festival but were sadly denied visas. Thankfully for us, they reapplied and were approved and have been touring great venues like New York and Boston. They are performing at one final venue out here in Los Angeles, The Roxy, before heading back home.
My favorite song by them is called "Fairy Tale"...you gotta hear it to understand why!
So here's the flyer below for more info...see you there! :) Cheers, Mani

First off, happy birthday! I've got a birthday coming Monday as well. I also heard the What's My Line Live show is back in L-A. I hope to come down there to see it again, if I play the proverbial cards right. Good luck with that, by the way.
