Contact: Pierce 07717798413 pierce@danielpierce.co.uk CURRENT DATES: July 24 - Source Bar, Shrewsbury 25 - MOJO, Liverpool 26 - (BOOKING) 27 - Whistlebinkies, Edinburgh 28 - Slouch, Glasgow 29 - Milo's, Leeds 30 - Midnight Lounge, Wrexham 31 - Buffalo Bar, Cardiff Aug 1 - Kasbah, Coventry THE RACE, is JKLMNO's third EP, and was self-released on LDP Records in February 2011. The five piece have been together since 2007 and have since recorded 3 EPs along with singles and demos in between that have evolved a sound JKLMNO now call their own. Mixing experimental influences with more commercial, JKLMNO aim to create something commercial but interesting, bridging the gap of bands such as Arcade Fire and Elbow to Snow Patrol and The Killers. In 2008, the band played FIB Benicassim, alongside Morrissey and Sigur Ros, after winning a national competition run by Supajam and Vince Power. The band followed this success with their second EP Transitions which gained the band airplay on BBC Radio 1, 6music and Introducing Wales and Shropshire. Support from BBC introducing continued throughout 2009 and 2010 with the band getting regular airplay and playing two live sessions for BBC Shropshire. The band were then invited to play the BBC Introducing Stage at T in the Park 2010. 2011 sees the band releasing 'The Race' in February with plans to promote the EP through the year and record an album for 2012. Huw Stephens, BBC Radio One "Pop-rock cast in the epic mould" FIB Magazine "Strange but beautiful" "Epic!" Adam Walton, BBC Wales "Awesome" Friday Night Gerbil (BBC Introducing Shropshire) "Few bands come up with such a diverse EP, let alone one as confident, but it seems as simple as ABC for JKLMNO" Room Thirteen.com 11/13 Review of Transitions." …leaves you wanting more - as well driving yourself crazy trying to say their name so you can run out and tell everyone you know about them."
