"Rising" is a collaborative effort with Jason Kilroy. He rocked out my lyrics, which were inspired by the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina on my homeland, South Louisiana.
The greatest unexplored frontier is found within the crevices of your own heart. "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"--and The Beautiful. Dig, hike, discover what’s inside of you waiting to be unleashed to live free, whole, full, through each breath that you breathe. This happens when you discover your deepest purpose, which can only come from asking the One who created you--God. When I asked, He answered, breaking through my walls of practicality with His guiding light and grace. He scattered the darkness that had blinded me for years. He released me from the structured life of a high school Chemistry teacher/business owner and turned me into someone I’d never thought I’d be--A writer/lyricist/novelist...Drummer…Skier…Hiker…and more. Along this path, I’ve written words that continue to surprise me. I’ve discovered rim shots, kicks, upbeats and downbeats--nestled in funky pockets and along polyrhythmic measures in time. I’ve hiked up mountains to ski lines that I’d once thought impossible, and there’s so much more to ski, learn, discover through it all. Once I realized God had so much more for me, I let go to allow him to write the greatest "Bio" I could ever pen. He continues to surprise me through the highs, lows, and everything in between--all adding to the rhythm of my soul. It’s all about the heart. Beats, pulses--Life...purpose. I play drums most Sunday mornings at Calvary Chapel. Come have some fun.
