Music and theatre and dance. These are the big three. I also love history, all history but specifically ancient Egypt and Rome, British history, the Titanic, American colonial and civil war, and the history of language. Harry Potter too. I also enjoy working out simply because of the rest of the clientele. Books of almost any kind, the classics and plays mostly. Movies. Wine and fine dining (though I can't cook anything but cereal) Cereal would be another interest actually. (Key question to whether I will date a person is do you drink the milk after you finish a bowl of cereal?) Also I love random stuff like reading books on manners and elocution and or learning how to fold napkins 100 different ways. I think that all of these things and a lot more are very important to becoming a true gentleman. That last statement conflicts with another interest though and that is swearing. I love it!
Music
Musical Theatre is my life, I especially love Stephen Sondheim, opera, classical, early music ie Baroque and Rennaisance, classic rock, Led Zepplin, ZZ Top and Billy Joel are just some of my favourites, 80's music of almost any kind, jazz, especially the vocal stylings of miss Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn and of course Diana Krall, a lot of kinds of dance music, random kinds of music that nobody else listens to like steel drum bands, scottish bagpipes, the gypsy kings, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Gregorian chant, Leonin and Perotin (if anyone can tell me anything about them I'd be very surprised) and some individual songs from more modern groups but would rarely buy an album from them (except for Maroon 5 because they are fabulous)
Movies
I love movie musicals, especially those with Gene Kelly (even Xanadu!), Fred Astaire and Judy Garland (of these Singin' in the Rain would be the best). I also love almost any Merchant/Ivory film. Others include but are not limited to All About Eve, Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, The Godfather I and II, Amadeus, Love Actually (pretty much any romantic comedy to tell the truth), Harry Potter films because they rock my world, Woody Allen movies (Deconstructing Harry is probably my favourite), Lord of the Rings (very original Max) and tons more that cannot possibly fit in here.
Television
Extras, Sex In The City, Will and Grace, Friends, Seinfeld, The West Wing, The Tudors, Entourage Frasier, South Park, Absolutely Fabulous, 24, Family Guy and anything at all on the History channel.
Books
Harry Potter, Shakespeare, Dickens, Jane Austen and Oscar Wilde. These are a few of my favourite things. As you see though I love the Brits. But, I love reading almost anything. I love almost all of the classics (almost). I also love history books and books on modern politics or politics of yore. Recently, I've read a books on manners of the late Victorian era, Tristram Shandy, and A Long Day's Journy Into Night.
