Writing and illustrating, of course, reading, looking at art, exercising, martial arts, and video games (his favorites being Vagrant Story, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Final Fantasy Tactics, Kingdom Hearts, and Xenogears).
Movies
Schindler's List, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Gladiator (the Ridley Scott film), Se7en (Seven), and quite possibly the Dark Knight (the late Heath Ledger's performance is incomparable).
Books
His chief interests are works of fantasy, horror, graphic novels, history, martial arts, mythology, and various ancient texts.
Heroes
Specifically, the writers who inspire him most are J.R.R. Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, Yasumi Matsuno (especially with translations by Alexander O. Smith), H. P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, Hideyuki Kikuchi, and William Shakespeare. His favorite artists are Ayami Kojima, Alan Lee, Akihiko Yoshida, John Howe, Hiroaki Samura (writing also), Drew Struzan, Mike Mignola (writing also), Gary Gianni, Adam Hughes, Frank Frazetta, and Norman Rockwell. He has also been a long time fan of the films of Tim Burton.
Imagination. Quality. Professionalism.
These are three words most often associated with J. M. DeSantis and his work. Since an early age, he has shown both promise and dedication to the disciplines of both writing and illustration, entering into and graduating from Pratt Institute before the advent of his professional career. Traditionally, J. M. works in both the genres of Fantasy and Horror, often blending the two together. His written work consists of novels, short stories, graphic novels, comic scripts, and poetry, while his illustrations are created to compliment these.
To date, J. M. DeSantis has completed a number of professional jobs, including his appearance as the Featured Artist of Heavy Metal Magazine’s January 2009 issue. He has written and illustrated two stories for Planet Lovecraft Magazine, and is scheduled to produce further tales in the future. The Comicbook Artists Guild, with whom J. M. received his professional start, has used him for various projects since his affiliation with them, including publishing his Devil Tree as a web-comic. Lastly, J. M. DeSantis has been personally invited to appear in the Directory of Illustration No. 26 (yr. 2010).
Who I'd like to meet:
If you're a fellow writer, illustrator, etc., a fan, an old friend/acquaintance, a current one, or someone else in or out of the entertainment industries, send an invite and J. M. DeSantis would be happy to add you to his Friend's List. If you wish to see more of J. M. DeSantis's work, or to contact him for a project you have, please visit his official website at www.jmdesantis.com .

KAIDAN is the term used for the Japanese ghost stories, and, extensively, for the J-Horror culture. The Buddhist moralizing stories were rapidly transformed into international shockers; people wanted more frightening monstrosities and oddness, with no direct connection with the Western horror.
Manga, anime, movies and the subcultures developed around them competed in shicks and panic. If you really want to know why on the Japanese horror movies is written 18+, take a look at the next issue of Otaku Magazine. Nevertheless, is our duty to warn you that all who looked inside certain pages of this issue have disappeared shortly after. Still, it might be just a story to send the children to sleep for good.

Thanks for the comment. I look forward to working with you too. I'm on a parallel Earth at the moment looking for a parallel dagger to one I lost on mine. The Weapons 'n' Things shop on my Earth was out of them. I'll talk to you when I get back. They have Dunkin' Donuts here too.
