Reading, writing, computers, cooking, philosophy (especially Stoicism and Humanism), psychology ... too many interests really to list. I tend to be a walking Dictionary and Encyclopedia of Useless Knowledge.
I also find myself rather fond of old school pin-up art, like this:
Music
I listen to mostly rock, but I don't let genre get in the way of what I like. If I like it, I like it; I don't care what you label it.
Recent Listens:
With as much music as I have, you never know what I might be listening to at any given moment. I even have a collection called "Worst Songs Ever" that is very cringe-worthy!
Movies
The Godfather Trilogy, Pleasantville, Confidence, The Matrix Trilogy, V for Vendetta, Star Wars (of course), Star Trek I, II, III, IV, Serenity, Cannonball Run, Top Gun, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Sin City, The Devil's Advocate, 40 Year Old Virgin, any of the Pixar movies .... and so on and so forth. Too many to list but I'll keep adding...
Television
Firefly ... it was great ... so naturally they cancelled it. Buy the DVDs.
Rome - great show. Two seasons only, it deserved a few more.
The Wire - great television. Final season is over.
Entourage - another great show. Pure escapism. Eye candy.
Grey's Anatomy - R.I.P. 05/03/2007 - it's over. One great season, one good season, now total crap.
Battlestar Galactica - Sci-fi the way I like it ... dark and brooding. This is no shiny happy Star Trek we're going on here. Hang on, you're in for a ride. Fourth and final season forthcoming.
Californication - Showtime's putting out some good shows these days. This one's enjoyable, 30 minute episodes, good writing, funny, nudity. :) Second season approved!
The Tudors - More Showtime goodness. The rise of Protestantism in England, the reign of Henry VIII. Second season ended.
Brotherhood - Another excellent Showtime series. One brother's a politician; the other, a gangster. Sparks fly.
Well, what's there to say? Ya'll know me or you probably wouldn't be here. :)
Serious as usual, and usually too serious for my own good! But when I cut loose, stand back!
I'm a proud father of a beautiful daughter whom I rarely get to see. Things don't always work out the way you plan. All you can do sometimes is wipe your bloodied nose and try to move forward. Sometimes there is no right answer. Sometimes you can make all the right moves and still lose. That's life.
All things considered, I'm still the luckiest man to ever live. One of them, anyway. My family ... my friends ... incomparable. My world is usually music, books, family, friends, and personal computers. Minimal pain, and lots of joy. I couldn't ask for anything more.
Life is very short, and there's no time ... for fussing, and fighting, my friends!
Just wanted to drop a note that I'm deleting a bunch of stuff from MySpace. I have so many business contacts on Facebook that it makes more sense to keep that page and not have 2 to check. Got you on my Facebook but didn't want you to worry about what happened to my MySpace. Aloha, Marie
FOR SURE!! I had so much fun. NOT LONG enough but poor Jack just wasn't up to it. He's still running a fever.... It's got to be this weather! XOX THANKS for having us!!
Thanks for the photo comments J. I thought you might find the humor in those. I just got back from a trip to Texas on a job hunting excursion. Very nice place!! I hope you have a wonderful week with Jaelyn on her spring break!!
