Jean-Michel Bernard began playing piano at the age of two. He has composed and produced numerous scores for films, television series and commercials and has collaborated with Claude Bolling, Lalo Schifrin and Ennio Morricone to name a few. He worked frequently with Ray Charles from 1999 to 2004 (album Ray Charles quartet "live in Melbourne" etc.).+++ Most recently, he has worked in Los Angeles with screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovitch) and multi-talented French director Michel Gondry (Bjork, Rolling Stones, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind-Golden Globe awards nomination 2005) on the film Human Nature (Cannes festival 2001) for which he composed and recorded the songs performed by Patricia Arquette and the Seattle Symphonic orchestra. ++++he worked with Michel Gondry on his film "Science of Sleep" (2005) featuring Gael Garcia Bernal, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Alain Chabat, Miou-miou (complete score).
+++he is currently working with Michel on his new project "Be kind rewind" with Mos DEF, Jack Black, Danny Glover, Mia Farrow, Sigourney Weaver for the score and the songs with Mos Def.
+++He just completed "Ma place au soleil" a French movie by Eric de Montalier with Nicole Garcia, Jacques Dutronc, Andre Dussolier, Elodie Bouchez, Gilles Lellouche etc .. (in theaters on 14 of march 2007)-
+++march, 20 : JmB completed a new film by Bruno Dega and Jeanne Le Guillou "Detrompez vous" with
Mathilde Seigner, François Cluzet, Alice Taglioni and Roschdy Zem-out in theaters on 24 of october 2007 (Pan Europeene).
+++Cannes Festival 2007 Alongside the Official Competition trophies, the France Musique-UCMF prize for best soundtrack of 2006 was awarded to Jean-Michel Bernard for "The Science of Sleep" by Michel Gondry.
+++The science of sleep soundtrack won the public prize at the international BEO Festival in Paris.
