I'm extremely proud to be a part of an orginazation called Blanket-A-Human. It's basically a network of young individuals that have come together based on one idea: To blanket a human, not just with blankets, but with all resources that we have available. There is a huge misconception of homeless people, and we're here to break that barrier. Please watch the video, and if you would like to be a part of the Los Angeles launch of BAH, send me a message. For more information, check out myspace.com/blanketahuman.

More About Me

I am not one to name-drop (unless I'm piss drunk), but let me start off by telling you that I've definitely been around the game and the block a few times. My many experiences and walks in life, whether positive or negative, have led me to become the exact person I am today. With that, I am proud to say that I have no regrets in life; I'm a firm believer of knowing that fate does exist, and my path was chosen for me because this is the way that I'm supposed to go.

I could go on about where I've been, what I've done, and what I'm good at, but I'd rather you get to know me for who I am; just a hard-working individual that feels the need to contribute to society in this day and age. Life is not something one should take lightly, and I definitely don't; we only have one life to live, so might as well take full advantage of what God has given us, right?

I'm particularly anal about spelling and grammatical accuracy, so I tend to reread everything over and over. Yet looking back, I still find errors that I've never caught before. I'm only human :)

At this time, I'm open to corresponding with anyone and everyone who keeps it real and is down for themselves and the things that they do. But more importantly, if you're an aspiring model, actor/actress, designer, photographer, or anyone in the design/photography/entertainment industry, feel free to send me a message. I'm all about networking through the right connections, and I'd like to think that MySpace could be utilized to make proper connections. This doesn't mean I'm going to add you to my friends' list, as I like to keep that restricted to people that I feel understand the true concept of MySpace, and are not just here to rack up a friend count. Please do not be discouraged if I don't accept your friend request. I receive hundreds of requests a day, as well, so my apologies in advance if you don't hear back from me for a couple of days.

As far as wanting to meet anyone famous goes, I'm going to be straight up: I'm not into getting all starry-eyed when I meet celebrities, because they're just people, too. You could be Britney Spears giving me a lap dance, for all I care. Honestly, Britney, I wouldn't care about your lap dance. Because you're just another person to me. You, just like I, are someone's child. For you people out there, if you ever, and I repeat EVER pull that "I'm better than you" card on me, you won't last long on my friends' list, let alone in life. If this previous sentence describes you, then don't even bother trying to add me.

One thing that I am quite tired of, and I'm sure a lot of you will agree with me, is when people add me for the sole purpose of soliciting me and/or my friends, and promoting their pages/parties/pictures in my comments' section. Please, my profile is not a bulletin board, and I would definitely like to keep it restricted to truthful comments/critique about me and/or my work.

So some things that will get you booted from my friends' list:

  • Don't ask me to hook you up with anyone on my list. Like I have magical powers that are going to make them fall in love with you, ESPECIALLY when I tell them that YOU wanted ME to hook YOU up, simple because you were too much of a wuss to approach them yourself. All I have to say about this? Closed mouths don't get fed. Think about it.
  • Don't leave comments that will stretch out my page. I don't care if it's a picture of your breasts or ass. I have my profile designed to a certain width that I want it at, and I really don't want to have to delete your comment because you didn't read this sentence. Just a fair warning now. Don't kill me later.
  • Don't leave music embedded onto my profile. I currently have a song that I like on my profile, and I don't need any more sound than that.
  • Don't leave me "Add Me/Whore Me/Party Here/Thx for the add" comment. I'm pretty original, and you should be too.

Get involved. Get involved. Get involved. Get involved.

Most importantly, if you want to help donate some of your time and/or resources, I want to meet you. Check out this video and help support Blanket-A-Human. get involved!

If you'd like a rate for headshots/fashion shoot, send an email to me at joe@2470studios.com and mention my MySpace page, and get 25% off. Don't need photos, but know someone that does? Email me and we'll discuss a referral program for you. Wanna see some of what I do? Here are some random shots from my recent portfolio over the past year or so. Feel free to leave me a comment on any of these pics!

Far East Movement is definitely a group that I've seen grow immensely since meeting the band members kev nish, j-spliff, & prohgress a few years back. Could you please drop some support by visiting their page when you have the opportunity by clicking here? As Asian American artists, I believe that FM is taking the proper steps to become the next big movement. So please check out their page and support their music.

I love to sing, and I'm pretty good at it. At least when I'm drunk or in the shower. I play several instruments, as well, so I guess you can say I'm naturally inclined to music. Music should be a big part of everyone's lives, but in this day and age, great music is hard to come by. I'm not sure about you guys, but talking about "B-A-N-A-N-A-S", "I think I'm crazy" and "my humps my humps my humps" aren't really considered music to me.

I don't really read BOOKS anymore, and you probably don't either, simply because there's SO much stuff you can find on the internet... Gah, I can't remember the last time I picked up a book, even!

Some of my favorite movies of all time include:

The Secret
If you haven't seen it, you don't know what you're missing. This is definitely a movie that you ABSOLUTELY MUST watch before you die.

American Beauty

The Matrix

The Shawshank Redemption

The Usual Suspects

My number one Lord & Savior, for helping me to accept the things that I cannot change. The One who forgives me of my sinful ways day in and day out and continues to love me as I continue to grow. I hope that one day, I'll be able to approach his open arms and whisper in his ear "Thank you, Father, for keeping me safe and guiding me here."

Now in no way am I a Bible thumper, but I do have my faith, and if you question it, or doubt it, or mock it, for that matter, I'm not one to judge, as you will have judged me... I know that my life did not end up here by just a touch of magic or by pure luck or coincidence. God has been showing me not just the path, but the exact steps that I needed to get where I'm at today.

My daddy is better than your daddy. =)

Also, my modern day heroes list consists of any and all Asian Americans making a stand, not as an individual, but as a whole and representative of the AA community. Ones whose passion is determined by that desire to make a stand against the stereotypes of being a minority in this vast melting pot of opportunity. I love to be inspired. So with that, INSPIRE ME...

TV? Now why would anyone want to waste their time watching TV? Okay okay, on the real, I'm REALLY addicted to two shows.

One of them is "Lost", which I can't get enough of... especially when they take 3-month breaks between shows...

The other is Heroes. The show, considering it's about Super heroes, is actually pretty amazing; Hiro is definitely my hero.

I don't actually watch the bube-tube for these shows, but wait the next day to catch them online. That way I only have to sit through 30 seconds of commercials rather than 5 minutes... ya know?

JO3, one of your friends asked about earthquake preparedness. Here's some tips ... ;-)
Are you outfitted for the next quake? Here's some gear you should have on hand:
*Wrench: You should have a crescent or pipe wrench to turn off gas and water valves. (Shut off the valves only if your house has sustained severe damage or you smell gas.)
*Flashlight: Keep flashlights -- and batteries -- in several locations in case of a power failure.
*Water, Disinfectant: Store three days' worth of drinkable water for you and your family (1 gallon per person per day), plus a disinfectant like chlorine bleach to help purify it.
*First-Aid Kit: Put your first-aid kit in a central place. Include a book of medical instructions.
*Radio and Batteries: You'll need a portable radio so you can get emergency broadcasts and disaster news. A cell phone would also come in handy.
*Dry or Canned Food: Store a week's supply of food for each person -- preferably food that doesn't require refrigeration or cooking. Don't forget a can opener.
*Blankets, Clothing, Shoes: Put blankets, clothing, and a pair of shoes (and glasses) in your earthquake supplies box. Toss in a pen and paper and that novel you've been meaning to read.
*Money: It's a good idea to stash a few $20 bills and some quarters in a safe place. Note: the pay phones should work even if the regular phone lines are jammed.
*Fire Extinguisher: Your household or business should have a fire extinguisher -- the kind that works for all types of fires. Make sure it's accessible.
*Barbecue Grill or Stove: It's smart to have a grill -- and some charcoal and matches -- in case your gas and electricity are shut off. (If you use it, remember to cook outdoors only.)
