Welcome to the dollhouse, Sin City, Hellraiser series, Lord of illusions, Elmstreet series, World according to Garp, Brasil,(Gilliam is also very unique in visual expression. He has something coming out soon) Aeon Flux series, The Head series, Princess Bride(for reasons that shoould be evident at this juncture)The Joyluck club, Se7en, Monty Python series, Banger sisters?(almost anything with Susan surandon I've latched on to, she looks a little like my momma, who's deceased so lay off!) The jesus movie I liked! Not in a BORN AGAIN VIRGIN kind of way, I just think Jesus 'The guy" would be an awesome guy. My older broski got me hooked on tracing the history of films in remake decending order. If you could stand Ocean's 11(I thought it was pretty good) then try and see the Frank sinatra version. Some of the casino scenes at the cage in caesars are just as you see it now. Then you can go to Vegas and stand in some wicked movie history,SCORE!! | | Television | Television is shit. Even the news is a fuckin' 'show'. Balls to that. | | Books | Oh glorious books. I wish I had time to read more but shiznit, readin' is hard! I, Shithead- Joey Shithad of D.O.A, Tale of two cities, Dave navarro- Don't Try This At Home, This day in Rock History, Live from new York, It's Saturday Night( the history of Saturday Night Live), Chester Brown- Ed the Happy Clown and Used to love me?, Love and Rockets series, Brothers Grimm Series, Both Chris Rock Books, Wattstax 74'( The birth of Funk), yesterdays paper, User's manual for My Yamaha 1273 keyboard, several condom use pamphlets, Currently reading Stephen sombodys "Freakonomics" oh and I read ah Ecstacy by Irvine Welsh.!! woooorrrddd!! | | Heroes | Heroes are hard to define. If this was titled "PEOPLE I MOST RESPECT" it would be much easier.although it does seem synonymous so let's just assume for the fuck of it. My mom raised me and my 3 brothers on her own since I was 8 yrs old. And still managed to become a senior member of her nurses union, become specialised in surgery assistance remarry at 45 Visit Nashville 5 times, and see every one of us graduate high school and 2 of us finish a degree in university before her death in 2003 to the cancer. 2. My grandma,Mary. Who I've only ever referred to as Mum DeWolfe(my gramps was from germany) is the pillar of my closest family. She's been through hell and back, mostly due to vicariously living through her 8 children. She fought a host of dysfunctional scenarios both personal and otherwise. And is still kickin' it back in the 'Chi at a ripe and ready 88 years I believe. Props to Mum.
3. Kristin "Princess buttercup" MacIntosh, my ex-wife. Proof positive that Love is the most powerful emotion in this life, she let me be free. We still love and respect each other(how could you not sharing 5 yrs of your life and your most intimate thoughts with someone) and support our respective endevours. She has a Wedding Planning and Event Managment company called 'Horizon Events' with our bud Dawna. She is a beautiful woman, an excellent chef, a hilarious storyteller and a gift unto this earth. A chance to meet her truly should not be surpassed
4. One Mr Stephen MacKnight, who directed me in a production of Ugene Innescco(sp?) 's "The Bald Sopranno" in my oac equivilent year of high school. After which won me the last ever awarded Best actor of the festival(toot toodle oooooh!!) in 1994-95. He is a father of some kids and a stand up guy. He saw a potential in me as a young man that I feel I've only owned up to recently. But I thank him for his confidence and guidence and respect him always.
5. Andrea "Bossorella" Lanctot. My boss at the b-mores for 6 n' a halve years now and still goin' strong. I'd follow this lady straight into hell if she promised a good time, which usually follows her regardless. Her leadership, strength, guidance and patience have certainly helped me be as cool as I now feel. (ha,ha) Seriously speaking, have you ever had a boss you could call your friend let alone get drunk, break shit, travel with, skinny dip, see fight, hold tight and share some drugs with. She's just a super gal and I love her guts and so should you. Amen
