Joal Kamps is unihibited. A quality that bodes well in public. His guitar almost an extra appendage, he will engage any and every willing listener with his newest song. His skill along with his performance time increases exponentially. You hear all the nuances of his world experiences in the lyrics and the melodies.
Kamps' latest release 'the RED ep' is out now - and available on iTUNES, CD Baby, and other online retailers. His plans for its launch are already underway including a brief stint in Europe, touring through Holland during the months of June and July before returning to North America for summer festivals. The songs on 'the RED ep' are warm and hopeful. Not at all a bad thing in the year we're living in. Leave it to the artists to keep inspiring. Joal Kamps fully complies.
'The RED ep', was recorded in the peaceful prairies of Three Hills, Alberta. The Muzik Haus studio served as the perfect stage to present and track all of his latest musical ideas. Producer Mark Troyer and Kamps have teamed up to release one of his most exciting releases to date; the RED ep contains brand new material from the 30+ new songs Kamps has compiled since the release of 'Waiting' in 2007.
'Waiting', Kamps' previous release, was recorded in the woods near Priddis, Alberta at the Shotgun Shack - originally located in the rolling foothills East of the Rocky Mountains. Producer Bruce Hildesheim was an integral part in shaping this record with as much tonal and creative integrity as possible - as well as helping kick-start Kamps' musical career.
Yo Joal Kamps, Whenever I listen to your music. I feel like singing too. But your talent is unmatched. How much time you spend to rehearse per day Joal Kamps? Love ya. Do PS:Follow Me Twitter at http://twitter.com/iaent
Joal, I'm not sure if you realize this or not, but your music is higher caliber than anything I've heard at "our level". The mystery of attaning that "next level" still eludes me, but your tunes NEED to be heard. Your voice has grown so much over the years and your songwriting is literally on par with anything that's out there winning awards. You don't belong in the independent scene and if I can do ANYTHING to help you out, please allow me the chance to do so. Much love, Nic Brouwer
Aw man, I'm going to be down there a week later! Victoria, then spending a few days in Langley/Vancouver. We'll probably pass each other on the highway!
It goes alright. I have been a bit low for the last few days. I am trying to plan trips out of town to just get away from everything for a while. Like a trip to France, or England or something. lol Totally made me think of you.
I'm excited to hear you sing at Tomfest this year buddy. :D
A mix of excitement and nerves...there's so much to do to get prepared for the c-d release! And I have a stupid cold right now, so I'm hoping that will be gone come Saturday, otherwise I'm going to sound horrible. If you could pray for me I'd really appreciate it. I hope you can somehow make it on saturday!
Hey Lovely Mr. Kamps! Just wondering how everything is going over there in Holland/Europe...and do you think you might be home in time for my c-d release??
