JoanieLSpeak's Interests
|
| General | I paint but mainly enjoy the graphic arts. I love to cook (huge foodie) and have begun gardening in small doses. When I have my own home I will take this up as a full time hobby, both vegetables and flowers. | | Music | I suppose I like an eclectic mélange of music. I like beep and click techno, and ambient. Softer ballad-like rock and sigers with deep voices. ie. The Church, Magnetic Fields, Crash Test Dummies.
Other bands that I enjoy, in no particular order: Air, Architecture in Helsinki, Eagle Eye Cherry, Fruit Bats, Home Video, Hooverphonic, Notwist, Operatica, Postal Service, Rob Dougan, Sondre Lerche, Stars, Telepopmusik, Utada Hikaru The Weepies, Junior Boys, Minus the Bear, Ben Taylor, Dido, Royksopp, The Notwist
Check out Pandora: The Music Genome Project because I told you to do it, AND made it a clickable link. | | Movies | The Road to El Dorado, Benny and Joon, Cry Baby, Don Juan Demarco, Edward Scissorhands, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Clifford, The Holy Grail, Cabin Boy, The Breakfast Club | | Television | Strangers with Candy, Earth 2, The Tick (live and animated), The Simpsons, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, The Critic, Lost, The X-Files, Family Guy, Reno 911, Sealab 2021, Futurama | | Books | I'll read anything by Kurt Vonnegut or Chuck Palahniuk. I also loved the Griffen and Sabine series by artist Nick Bantok. | | Heroes | Alberto Giocometti, the swiss sculptor; Tim Burton; Salvador Dali; and Marcel Duchamp. I also love Jack Handey. |

About me:
Jerome K. Jerome, I am an exceptionally good liar.
I just graduated from college with a BA in fine art. I'm a "very laid back person." Or so I hear from what few friends I have. I hate parties, and most social situations but this is not a fault. I love museums, movies, and cartoons that haven't aired since the mid nineties, grunge rock and adult alternative, beep and click techno, Chuck Palaniuck, stand up comedy, and some video games. I'm very sarcastic, and most people I know think I'm funny...but I think that's a load of crap.
I don't like dogs or people who believe vanity is a virtue. I don't accept "I'm sorry" very often, but I say it, myself, all the time, apologizing when I have done nothing wrong. I don't like cheaters unless they are exceptionally clever, and my favorite animal is the penguin. I have stacks of books that I don't have time to read, and love the graphic arts. I appreciate classical music, and have a germ-phobia that some consider obsessively compulsive. I can't sleep without touching my face or lips, and ice cream tends to excite me. I don't tan; I only burn and because of this my skin is white like snow. I have recently rekindled my love of swimming and plan on spending a lot more time outside now that I have someone to go camping with.
In the very near future Jim and I should be moving into our first house. Hopefully sooner than later.
"Written by a 16 year old girl, this powerful book tackles the issue of child abuse in America. Twenty-six poems reflect the terrifying hardships many children must face on a daily basis. From the children of drug addicts, to victims of neglect and abuse, this book will leave you in tears and wanting to do something to help." -Lulu Publishing

Who I'd like to meet:
Only people I know. Please do not randomly add me without messaging me first. I am on myspace to keep in touch with people I know. If I do not know you, chances are I will not add you. And you all guessed right, I don't add bands, unless I directly know a member. Sorry.
