Singer/songwriter Joanna Borromeo is currently living the dream - her dream, that is. She's no slouch when it comes to being an active musician. Singing and songwriting is merely where it starts for her. She's a pop/rock/soul artist who values emotion above all else. But that's not to say that she doesn't take care of all the other important things as well. She's a seasoned stage performer who takes the lead in her own band, but can stand confidently on her own behind a mic and her rhodes. She's currently finishing up her 1st EP, which she also produced, entitled Through The Dark. On this album, listeners can hear influences that range from 70's classic R&B to the Dilla school of hiphop, and from modern soul to "loud, distorted guitars", with everything being tied together with the sensibility of a neat pop record. This is really just the beginning for Joanna, and her long history as a student of classical and jazz music will surely point her to interesting, new directions. Through The Dark will be in stores October 2009.
