Singer/songwriter/old friend you just haven’t met yet, Joanna Jahn makes her debut. Firmly grounded in easy pop-rock, these front-porch melodies welcome a warm twang, courtesy of the occasional pedal steel and flying fiddle. Refreshingly restrained production lets Joanna tell the stories, in a voice that reminds us Emmylou, Karen and Linda haven’t left the building.
Whether she’s paying tribute to Karen Carpenter, covering Hank Williams in a country bar or having a formal torch singer moment before a crowd of a thousand, her soul-seducing voice, open style and enviable range make any stage hers alone.
Joanna is heard and seen every week throughout the Twin Cities. She is currently one of The Dollys, an all-girl trio that performs the hits of Dolly Parton, EmmyLou Harris, Linda Ronstadt and many others. She plays her original songs live with Trent & Troy Norton and sings with Steeling Dan, a thirteen-piece Steely Dan Tribute band. She is a featured performer every year in Christmas In The City, a holiday show with John Trones and Jim Brickman and she is also featured on several of John Trones’ albums.
You may have heard Joanna’s voice on TV or the radio, as she makes her living telling you to buy stuff. She has been a professional voiceover artists for several years and her warm, smokey-sans-Marlboros-and-whiskey voice has earned her a long and growing client list.
