Photography, Music (Live Rock, Festivals, Concerts - all of it!), good coffee with eggs benedict and the Sunday paper, Movies, Friends & Good Times with them, Mexican, Tequila, Ipod, Writing, Dare Iced Coffee, The Footy and keeping up with what's going on in this often confused and scared but brilliant world....oh, and my job matters too.
Music
Rock, Blues, Jazz, Indie, Reggae, some Classical, Soundtrack Scores, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80', 90's, basically everything - love the music. Bring It On, but no cranial bleeds from bass thumping, melody-less, lyrically challenged, door stretching crap.....it just dont make no sense. Ya all know what I'm talkin' 'bout.
Movies
Thrillers, Dramas, Doco's.....
I rate: Anything with Andy Garcia, George Clooney, Julianne Moore, Meryl Streep, Edward Norton, Johnny Depp, Al Pacino, Toni Colette, Jodie Foster, Tim Hutton, Robert Redford, Tom Cruise, Gene Hackman, Tim Robbins, Sean Penn....and, nothing beats the expression on Harrison Ford's face when it's all looking baaad. Gotta love him.
Television
Mostly CRAP (RIP The Sopranos, Six Feet Under & that brilliant ABC drama Wildside a few years back) - Television stations are greedy and have become prostitutes to commercialism beyond reason, so they create more reality TV Shows and dial up 1900 phonebill killers to flog more product to pay the cost of poor programming, legal bills for firing staff and overpaying rights for sport (dont get me wrong, I dont deny our love of sport - but Pay TV is deciding what you watch and when, and even the bloody fixtures). Pisses me off. I'm also sick of endless re-runs of old English & American sitcoms, GO AWAY.
Only exceptions for me are Australian Story & Enough Rope on the ABC, and Rockwiz on SBS, the rest of it is garbage. Check out 'You Tube' instead or go for a walk, go to a movie or read a great biography of someone amazing.... Dont watch the game - GO TO THE GAME you'll be glad you did. Start a blog and write down your thoughts - send a letter to the TV stations and tell them to get their acts together...!!
Books
Biographies (all of 'em) - especially about music, and the great stories that come from rock n roll bands, past and present. Loved Anthony Keidis book "Scar Tissue" - a great memoir and picture of suburban America in the 70's, 80's & 90's - and of course the Chili Peppers.
Heroes
My parents, my high school art teacher for encouraging me to pursue photography and my friends....I'm lucky.
My footy team, The mighty Manly Sea Eagles - they rock, they make me cry, they make me jump for joy, they send me to despair - that's what being a supporter is all about. Good times and bad, stick with them. Go you good things!
I'm 37 years old, a Gemini and living in the best city on earth (Sydney), in the best country on earth (Australia). I am passionate about music, shooting live music, writing about it, attending concerts & festivals - and rate myself pretty highly on creating cool iPod playlists! I love to read about music and the industry that makes it and breaks it. I enjoy going to down to the pub with my mates, no smoke!! (yes it's a great thing - just ask the band), and seeing great live music of any kind, it's one of life's great pleasures. I'm also passionate about my footy team, the Mighty Manly Sea Eagles - they rock, just ask Daddy Cool - Ross wrote our theme song (although he just didnt know it 30 years ago, we love you Ross Wilson!) I waited 10 years to be in a stadium during finals time to see my team's often uncommitted fans pack into the SFS to earn a place in the 2007 Grand Final - to hear 30,000 people singing Eagle Rock was a moment I will treasure always - I love Australia, we love our sport, and we love to sing at the game - Waltzing Matilda at a Wallabies match is a great thing - The mighty Sea Eagles will avenge 2007 (I can hear ya all - no need to tell me, I know - pathetic effort, but we'll make amends), watch this space, my space! I'm also a bit partial to the Swans in the AFL, mainly because I have 2 friends who live and breathe the Swans - I loved the games I attended in 2007, I hope to attend the first match up against West Coast in 2008 - we owe those cocky westerners some banner time - it's like waiting for the pain to come, and it will! Oh, did I mention my cat? she's Gorgeous - by name and by nature. Pets love us unconditionally, that's why we grieve so much when they go, I enjoy her every day, every minute counts. I manage Events for a living, enjoy working for charity and will, one day, get back to learning to play guitar with Ben (you're never too old, I'm just impatient and lazy), and return to the USA to check out the House Of Blues, Radio City Music Hall, The Grand 'Ol Opry, The Greek Theatre, Red Rocks & Madison Square Garden....just to name a few.......Hakuna Matata.
Who I'd like to meet: Denny Crane, or is that William Shatner? No, Denny Crane, I don't like William Shatner (except when he was in the original Star Trek, not bad at all). Also like to meet Bill Clinton, Robin Williams, lot's of dead people like Lennon, Elvis, Robert Kennedy, Andy Warhol, Jim Morrison, Jeff Buckley, Janis Joplin, Truman Capote....this is just too hard to list, but I also love meeting funny, irreverent, crazy, opiniated, interesting, passionate, down to earth people, if that's you, then hi! Meeting anyone on an astral trip can be riveting as well, flying without physically moving is always fascinating to me. I'd also like to meet Oprah (or at least be in the audience) so she can give me new car!.....make sure you send her your new book if you write, could be the golden Wonka ticket! Oprah's cool - spends it well, like a woman should.

Hi Jo Jo! Just thinking of you while in my space. Miss seeing you everyday. Hope the busy schedule you have now isn't long term. I love you. I honestly love you. :)
I was your first friend on MySpace. Want to make sure everyone who looks at this site in the future knows THAT! I love your writing, Jo. I'll publish your first book. You could write it already. Now, go and get me some more gigs! Love, WLC.
