My interests change as I change and grow as a person. I enjoy reading, listening to music, playing online, blogging, photography, thrift store shopping, playing Sims, creating ATC's (artist trading cards) and gardening. I'm involved in the unschooling community on and offline and I love learning and living school-free along side my kids. I also very active in the online adoption community and help to run a site for parents who have adopted or are thinking about it.
Music
I love hard rock: Metallica, Godsmack, Sevendust, old Alice in Chains and Soundgarden to name just a few.
Movies
My favorite movies are old old black and white ones with Joan Crawford, Bette Davis and Susan Haywood. My all time favorite movie is "Whateever Happened to Baby Jane" with Crawford & Davis.
Close runners up are The Crow (Brandon Lee) and The Rose (Bette Midler)
Television
My favorite show of ALL TIME is The Real World on MTV. I've watched it since the beginning and am loving the drama in the Sydney house right now. LOL I also love The Sheild on F/X and wish they would film more episodes.
Heroes
My husband Billy is my my hero, best friend and partner in crime. We've been through a lot of crazy shit together and we're still going strong.

I'm a native New Yorker (from Brooklyn) and I moved to Florida with my husband and mother in 2002. We really like it here except you can't get a decent bagel. lol Shortly after we moved, we adopted three kids (yes-three!). At the time that we finalized the adoption, they were 5, 8 & 11 and they're now 9, 12 & 15 years old. We're a multiracial family (my youngest and oldest are biracial) and we're also unschoolers. My mother (RIP: 07/07/07) always said I was a rebel who had to do things her way or not at all. I guess she was right because we're definitely not your typical, traditional mainstream family.
What else would you like to know about me? I've been a vegetarian for over 20 years, I am a recovering Roman Catholic, I've been agnostic my entire adult life and have recently become interested in Zen Buddhism. I love hard rock and heavy metal and have been to more concerts than I can remember. I'm Italian-American and one of my dreams is to visit Italy.
Before I decided to take on the best job in the world as a full time mommy, I was a certified exercise trainer and dance teacher. I worked in many New York City gyms and studios before I opened my own, New York Dance & Fitness. I still hold my certification and although I've been offered several classes here in Florida, I've chosen not to go back to work at this time.
Lee Iaccoca recalls how his father took him to see the Statue of Liberty as a child. He deeply regrets that he never took his own children. But Iacocca, 78, the retired Auto Executive, made up for that as Chairman of the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island Foundation, raising more than $500 million to restore those two landmarks. A new book, Liberty for All (Miller) with text by Iaccoca, tells the restoration story. "The statue is a symbol that stands out in our world," says Iaccoca. "We got more than 10,000 letters from Europe telling us it represents the kind of country we have. We've got to cherish our freedom and teach our kids not to take it for granted. "
