Blending an extensive collection of influences into soulful jazz sounds.
With a foundation formed from early R&B influences, and a respectful nod to some of the jazz greats, the trio brings together songs of every genre and time, that may come to mind.
JOAQUIN'S NIGHT TRAIN brings the audience along on their creative endeavor of leaving no musical thought behind. Wherever a melody may lead, the band is sure to follow, then forge in a new direction.
Joaqinator, We need to do dinner again so I can get the 411 on your trip. Hope all is dandy in your world. I started the new school year last week and my body is in shock with the setting an alarm schedule. HA! We had an 8 year old bring a shank to school on day 2. I'm teaching in Compton. Talk soon.
Whee, am I excited! Not only do I see my name in this week's News and Review, where they have a nice little article about the current show at the CoolCat, I know I'll be the Portrait in this week's Sacramento Bee Scene section. That should be enough, right? Well, I opened up my new copy of the latest Juxtapoz magazine today, and there I see a full-page ad with my name on it! Check out the ad for Suite Jesus Loves the Ladies, a group show to be held at 111 Minna Gallery in SF on January 25th. Better yet - come check out the show!
