I was born in Philly and grew up on Martha's Vineyard, Mass. I enjoyed building and racing sailboats for a living until the Internet caught my interest in 1996.
I work as SVP of Business Development for MySpace where I structure and negotiate deals to drive revenue and support the launch of new products.
Prior to MySpace I served as Managing Director of Business Development and Product Management for Los Angeles Times Interactive where I structured deals with startups including Aggregate Knowledge, Netvibes, Eventful and Mixx.com and launched a first phase redesign of latimes.com, ultimately generating enough online ad revenue to cover the Times's entire editorial payroll, print and online (http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/jan/12/la-times-online-advertising).
Before LAT I worked as VP of Strategy at the interactive agency Blast Radius (http://www.apple.com/pro/profiles/blastradius/). I joined Blast as the 31st employee; while there I founded the strategy division of the company, served as a member of the senior management team and helped grow the company to 300 employees on a bootstrapped operating model (growth funded entirely from operating profit with no outside funding). I also led the design and development of search, content and commerce websites for AOL, Sony, Nintendo, Viacom, Atlantic Records, A&E Television Networks and others. Blast was acquired by the WPP Group in 2007.
Outside of work I spend my free time surfing whenever I can, discovering new music and hanging with my wife Celeste and our children Nina and Johnny.
