  • Bio

.. She used to bite her fingernails until she decided she could leave them long on one hand so she could play guitar better. She enjoys high count thread duvets(ones with over 300 stitches), counteracts the yellow shampoo with silver, and if she had a horse she would call him/her Sheeba. At an early age she can recall singing "I Saw The Sign" by Ace of Base, and dancing to the song that goes "Bam Bam Bam Bucchi Bam Bam Bam Bam Bucchi", you know the one. She discovered a genetic ability to write songs at the age of 12 and kept doing this until the present day. Armed with Blonde hair and longer nails on one of her hands, she was the winner of the Primal Acoustic Sessions songwriting competition in 2004 with her song "Don't". In 2009 she won the University of Auckland Songwriter of the Year award. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. Raised in Blenheim, Jocee draws on the experience of the backbreaking work at the Redwoodtown Dairy "for like $5.50 an hour" and numerous other quaint New Zealand happenings to give her the kind of soul you'd sell your.....er, soul, for. .. And while we're throwing hyperbole out there, let's say her music brings to mind Joan Baez, Alison Krauss and Brooke Fraser, and that she has hooks "stronger than a drug addiction".
