Jocelyn Scofield is a multi-talented singer/songwriter working hard to carve her own path in the music business. Her piano-driven musical style combines her greatest influences-pop, jazz, and folk. Music Connection Magazine has called her a "natural storyteller" and the Lansing State Journal said she "redefines the term road warrior." Indie-Music Magazine has described Jocelyn as a "true composer with a voice like a gutsier Fiona Apple."
In the last five years, Jocelyn has recorded, produced, independently funded, and released two albums. She has driven over 50,000 miles touring all over the country and performed in over 150 venues ranging from tiny coffeehouses to the 61,000-seat Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago. She has written with numerous Grammy Award-winners and one of her songs being recorded for Disney Records. Jocelyn has received three ASCAPlus awards and in 2006 was chosen to participate in the Johnny Mercer "Power of a Song Workshop" with Tony Award-winning lyricist David Zippel.
This fall Jocelyn will release her third album, A Witty Girl. The album was recorded in Nashville and produced by Grammy Award-winning engineer Mitch Dane.
Your new pics and AMAZING!!! I wished I could make the CD release party, that would be fun. It's my bday that night so I'll toast you that night too :) miss ya!
Loved three of the four new ones. I'm not sure why, but the gravity song didn't have much impact on me.
I'll have to listen again to see why.
The other three were all very aesthetically pleasing.... and "felt" familiar even though they were new and it's a first listen (that's a good thing) and combined the "instant familiarity" with musical surprises that kept them from being predictable. That's all it takes to make a song memorable to me.
Just stopping by here for a listen to ya again, Jocelyn. This is such cool stuff! Hope you're having a nice weekend, and that you make it back to Nashville to play again sometime soon!
