Jochen Trappe, born in the near of Hamburg/Germany, can be really grateful to his parents for their particularly paradoxical upbringing strategy - from the tender age of six to be forced to play the trumpet until with 15 when he was able and allowed to fulfil his inherent love for electronic music, buy a computer and finally produce funky beat music.
This is almost history now and the distinguished Mr. Trappe has been practicing in the meantime. No wonder that hits like his first disc "Organic", which was released 2006 on Connaisseur Recordings, have advanced his career in the freelance techno business.
Diverse self-developed music software-tools and plug-ins give his tracks the funky-freaky touch with a dose of digital soul roughness which create a very special experimental sound.
As a result of his professional IT training Jochen Trappe..s productions are very often pure technical inspiration. One of Jochen’s specialities is the Mouse on Mars Keys, wonderfully shaped Stevie Wonder snatches and indestructible Daft-Punk-Boards.
Bye the way, Jochen has also taken locations like Berlin, Munich, Paris or Bristol apart with his live and DJ sets without complaints !

Jochen Trappe kann seinen Eltern wirklich dankbar sein für die ganz bestimmt bewusst angewandte paradoxe Erziehungsstrategie, ihn ab dem sechsten Lebensjahr so lange quälende Blasmusik auf der Trompete spielen zu lassen, bis er mit 15 Jahren einen Computer kauft und endlich seine ohnehin immer dagewesene Liebe für elektronische Klänge und funkige Beats in ersten Musikproduktionen auslebt.
Und weil das nun schon eine Ewigkeit her ist und der feine Herr Trappe ordentlich geübt hat, ist es kein Wunder, dass dann mal eben Hits wie seine Debut-Scheibe "Organic", welche 2006 auf Connaisseur-Recordings erschienen ist, eine Steile Karriere in der freien Techno-Wirtschaft nach sich ziehen mussten.
Diverse selbst entwickelte Musikprogramme und Plugins verleihen seinen Tracks den funkig-freakigen Touch mit einem Schlag digital-souliger Räudigkeit, die den oft sehr experimentellen Sound so besonders machen; als studierter Informatiker sind es nicht selten rein technische Inspirationen, die einen neuen Jochen Trappe - Titel zur Folge haben.
Eine Schublade für den Sound des gebürtigen Kielers, kann man am besten aus handgefrickelten Mouse-on-Mars-Schrauben, formschönen Stevie-Wonder-Griffen und unverwüstlichen Daft-Punk-Brettern zimmern.
Geübt hat Jochen übrigens auch seine Live- und DJ-Sets, deshalb beschwert sich auch keiner, wenn er in Städten wie Berlin, München, Paris oder Bristol regelmäßig die Feiertempel zerlegt.
