This is part of a song I wrote for my Grandma O'Neill. It is a bonus track on my album. I recorded it accapella.
This is my first homemade video and i sort of messed up. I edited myself. When I rotated it, EVERYTHING stretched out so it looks like I'm flat and have a big head! oh well! I hope you like it.
Influences
http://www.last.fm/music/Jodi+Ann
My writing influences vary from one period of time to the next. Dolly Parton has played a big role in my music. Very heartfelt. Strong yet sweet. She can paint a story in your mind with her music. Reba McEntire has had the biggest influence on me. She has so much inner strength and she shines through her smile and her voice. When Nashville told her no, She said watch me!
Thank you for listening to my music!!!!!
I tend to use songwriting as an outlet for emotions when life gets to be too rough. Music has been my saving grace from insanity. When I get stressed out, you will see my reach for my guitar :)
Sometimes my songs are so deep and personal that i actually cry when i sing them. Maybe I'm just a sentimental and overly emotional girl.
Hello! My Name Is Jodi Ann. I am a songwriter from Nashville,TN. I have been writing music since I was12 years old. I came through a rough childhood and somehow I managed my feelings in music. I have led a full life with hardly a dull moment.
Some of my musical influences came from the wonderfull soul of Dolly Parton. She has such a way with words. Allison Krauss, Reba McEntire, and Lorrie Morgan Have also played a major role in my music.
Jodi Ann The Beginning, is my first album. I have songs from my heart, as well as toe tappin' country songs! It is Country tinged with Bluegrass.
The second Album is due out in the Spring 2010. Its called A Brief Moment in Time. I am under different management on this album and has a variety of different styles!
My (shortened) Bio:
Jodi Ann is a singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Michigan. She started to write poems at the age of 12, received her first guitar at age 8, but did not learn to play it until she was 24. Her first songs were poems to guitar noise at 18 that lead her down the road of singer/songwriter.
Jodi Ann was a well-known Karaoke DJ in Michigan and was a pre-opening act for Diamond Rio at the 1997 Michigan State fair.
Jodi Ann moved to Nashville in October 1998, with her first professional public performance at the famous Tootsies where was was introduced by country legend Dell Reeves. Other performances at the Bluebird Café and around Nashville rounded out a modest start to a potential career.
Jodi Ann saw a small break in meeting a singer while waiting tables in Nashville, though those connections she has since recorded her first full length CD, The Beginning, and is currently working on another.
She has seen radio airplay in Sydney, Australia with dj Dukerider, in the England area on the Monday mix with Emma Cherry, in Northern Ireland on aiiradio with dj Yorkie and a few various stations across the US! She was the Featured artist! On Indie Charts, she won the Battle on the Bands contest competing against bands from all genres of music!
I'm looking for artists to record some of my songs. Please listen and see what you think. Thank You!

I need to get back into live performances. I remember the feeling of excitement, dread, love, and fear all rolled into one emotion right before getting on stage. I really do miss it! ...... .
In My Own Words:
I started writing at about age 12. mostly in poem. I didn't know how to verbalize my feelings. It has always been easier to write them down. I learned to put my poems and my guitar noise together when I was 18. Voila! singer/songwriter.When I was 22 I became a Karaoke Dj. When I was 23 I became one of the best known Karaoke dj's and worked at the biggest night club in the city. I had many radio spots and was known as the karaoke goddess! No Lie!!! At the MI state fair in 1997, I was one of the pre-opening acts for Diamond Rio.
I moved to Nashville in Oct. 1998. My first professional public performance in Nashville was at the famous Tootsies. Country legend, Dell Reeves, invited me on stage and said " Hey every body! I'd like to introduce a friend of mine.......Yes major highlight of my life!
I used to perform at the world known BlueBird Cafe on Monday nights and play downtown Nashville on other various nights.
Grand Ole Opry was the place to be, Especially when you're backstge on a Friday night!!! Through a friend of a friend, I got the hook up. Charlie Louvin of the Louvin brothers, was a friend of my friend. I hung out with Little Jimmy Dickens ( jimmy! my face is up here!) and the wonderful Porter Wagner. I met Vince Gill, Amy Grant, John Berry, Diamond Rio (again), Holly Dunn, Pam Tillis Lorrie Morgan, Reba McEntire, Brooks and Dunn, Daryl Dodd,Mark Chestnut, Joe Diffie, and SOOOOO many more people.
Since then I have recorded a full 11 song Cd, Titled The Beginning, and I am currently working on another. My second CD is due out in the spring of 2010. Watch out for a BIG promotional campaign and online CD release party!
