Jodi- Believe in and Be the world you wish to see's Interests
General
I love my family, adventures, nature, simplicity, meditating daily, learning, animals, (nearly) anything new, (nearly) ALL challenges, great conversations, yoga, exploring/travel, reading, my friends, laughing and being silly, my cats (Ladybug and Sweetie), running, lifting weights, swimming, working out, kayaking, healthy vegan cooking (especially with curry!!!), taking care of our planet/doing my part, ladybugs, camping/hiking, euchre, board games, road trips, not taking life too seriously (although it is a struggle for me), and Being. Spending time daily speaking positivity out loud is a new hobby of mine. I hope it continues to empower my life, the lives of others, the Universe, and the spiritual world. ***We don't live in a Universe that was made. We live in a Universe that is being made, every moment.*** I also love spending time day dreaming about biking around the world. (Biking would be faster then walking!) I am sure that the unbelievable kindness I saw hiking across the US this past year is universal and I would love to experience it and share it with others through another online trail journal. I'm all about daily "Jodi Stories". This is the name I give all the sweet/funny/crazy things that happen to me on a DAILY basis. Life's all about the little moments. I have a "life to-do list" and although I am doing a lot of the things on it, it just keeps getting longer... and this is okay with me! I am all about appreciating and experiencing this awesome life God has blessed me with every day that I am on this beautiful planet.
Music
I like just about everything, but techno, heavy metal, and junk rap... and yet there are still a few select songs in each one of those genres that I like. I enjoy a big variety... too big to even start naming favorite artists. Silence is also cool. I need my share of daily silence to maintain my sanity!
Movies
What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North
You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."
I do love to curl up on a couch and watch a good movie. I oddly don't like to watch movies more then once, so I am not much of a movie quoter. I like quality plots and quality acting. I love thought provoking and inspirational movies, especially when they're based on true stories. I'm not too big into chick flicks, although there are a few I like. I prefer movies with some action (but it can never be a substitute for plot). Stupid comedies are freaking hilarious when watched with the right people, but they suck when you are with the wrong friends. NO JACKIE CHAN OR MARTIN LAWRENCE! Happy endings are now a must!
If I had to name favorites... The Lord of the Rings and Twilight. (lol!) Any documentary movies, like the Planet Earth series or Nova specials are great!
Television
I don't own one. There's something about sitting in front of a little box every evening, watching other people PRETENDING to live life, that just seems like a waste of my life. I think the world would be better off without TV... at least not for an average of 4 hours every night. With that said, I am going to be a hypocrite here. When in town, I like heading over to my parents' house and watching Scrubs, Chuck, Heroes, and even American Idol! Oh, and laughing out loud at an episode of America's Funniest Home Videos is always a good time.
Books
I love to read and try to find time to fit it in daily.
Some of my favorites: Ishmael, The Story of B, The Third Jesus, The Power of Now, The Alchemist, Everyday Enlightenment: The 12 Gateways- Dan Millman, A New Earth, The Food Revolution, Living the Truth, What Jesus Really Meant, The Tao of Daily Life, The Tao Te Ching, The Bible, Captivating, Wild at Heart, Waking the Dead, Love and Respect, The Five Love Languages, Excuses Begone!, The Twilight books!!!!...
plus everything by Daniel Quinn, Thich Naht Hahn, Eckhartt Tolle, Dr. Wayne Dyer, and Dan Millman.
My favorite thing to do nearly every week is to pick a topic (religious, spiritual, philosophical, historical, environmental...) and get a big pile of books from the library. I skim them all and throughly read the ones that appear to be worthwhile. This has been the way I've been "reading" lately.
Heroes
Albert Einstein, The Peace Pilgrim, and the loving and inspiring people that I met on my hike! When I think about it, I see heroic qualities that I admire and am thankful to be graced with in every single person that I've ever met. I'm really energized and inspired when I see people living with passion and pursuing the dreams in their hearts. Yeah, all active dreamers, spreading light and love to this world, are my heroes!

About me:
I live life with genuine passion. I view my time on this earth as an amazing adventure and a spiritual journey. My focus is to show this world love and be a light to anyone that crosses my path. My greatest focus is that my actions and endeavors speak for themselves in regards to my beliefs.
A quick "life recap": I grew up in Oregon, OH (east of Toledo on Lake Erie) and have two brothers, Joel (27) and Jay (26). They are my best friends. They're both veterinarians and all my family members are big animal lovers. I was valedictorian of my class of 1999 at Clay High School. I've always been involved in tons of sports, but focused on running near the end of high school. I was All-State in Cross Country and Track (4:59 1600m) my senior year. I started out college at Columbia University in NY, NY, but came home after one semester. I am not a city girl and I was very homesick. (I need nature! I am happy with euchre and a bonfire!) I attended The University of Toledo and ran cross country and indoor/outdoor track. I graduated college in 2003 and began a career in real estate. I enjoyed selling real estate and it financially went very well, but my heart wasn't really in it. I also purchased two duplexes and they provide some nice extra income. I have done nearly all renovations and repairs myself. I am pretty handy! I also have to throw in a shout out to the East YMCA. The place is my second home! I have been working there part-time for over ten years, as a personal trainer, cycling instructor, weight room attendant, weight lifting class instructor, and more. I love the people there!
In 2005, I spent nine months in St. Louis, MO, in a Christian discipleship program that opened my eyes to the spiritual side of life and basic truths that are planted in all of our hearts. When I think back to my graduation from there, I see that A LOT has changed about my overall beliefs over the past four years. Some people may consider this "bad", but I feel more peaceful, more loving, more accepting, and am living and enjoying every moment just as it is... So. I think I am on the "right" path with God. Life sure is beautiful!
I've spent the last few years on the move. Camping, visiting friends/family all across the US, hiking across America, visiting over 25 National Parks, living at an ashram... I come home to take care of my duplexes and then I'm off again. It's been wonderful and I have no plans to stop this lifestyle anytime soon.
I enjoyed my winter in the Upper Peninsula (with no snow blower!) I spent my time writing, reading, praying, meditating, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, hanging out at the coffee shop in Munising... and shoveling! It was a time of amazing rest and reflection. I feel like I have reconnected with a peace and joy that are deep inside, unrelated to and unaffected by my circumstances or anything in life.
This spring, I went to an awesome place called the Himalayan Institute (a yoga/wellness/meditation center). If I didn't love to travel so much, I could totally picture myself spending a long period of time here.
For now, I'm back in Oregon, but will be leaving again soon. I plan to head out west and do some solo camping and biking in August. In October, I am going to bike to FL, visiting my bros in NC and tons of other family in northern FL. This is all in preparation for something even bigger...
So, last year I hiked across America (DE to CA) for Neurofibromatosis and Alzheimer's, promoting healthy, peaceful, simple living. It is kind of funny because I had never hiked before in my life when this idea popped in my head. I didn't even own a backpack. The hike was totally unsupported (no vehicle), spanning over 4100 miles along The American Discovery Trail. There's so much to say about this eight month adventure. People are amazing! I saw nothing but kindness and generosity and have many lifelong friends all across the US. I buried over 200 gallons of water in the desert ahead of time, hiked through 20 major cities and hundreds of small towns, got attacked by mountain goats, spent a month crossing the Rockies, and have endless amazing stories and memories. www.trailjournals.com/adt4nf is my online daily trail journal if you want to check it out.
I make mention of this hike to help someone make better sense of my current activities. After this great experience, for 1000 reasons, I want to keep going, but not on foot! So, I bought a touring bike (although I've never toured before) and have my summer/fall plans, but they aren't my ultimate goal. Next summer, I am going to start a cycling tour up in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. Right now, I have committed to biking Tip to Tail (AL to the tip of South America), but am thinking beyond. I am partnering up with a great guy (Aaron Lisco from Hawaii) who already has plans for a bike trip around the world well underway. I'd love to say I am doing the whole thing (and for any of you that know me, you know this could very well happen), but there are so many unknown circumstances. I don't want to commit to this prematurely. For now, a nearly two year tip to tail ride is plenty! So, all of my current activities revolve around training and TONS of preparation for this adventure. I may make a trip to Hawaii soon to visit my new partner. Although I hiked across America with a complete stranger and it went well, I would prefer not to do this again if I don't have to.
Who I'd like to meet: Everybody! I LOVE meeting people and sharing quality conversations. I believe in the goodness in the hearts of every single human being. I think that when we believe in ourselves and others, we create "goodness", "positivity", and love in our lives and in the Universe. I do hope that a spectacular man will cross my path at the right time... if there is such a thing as the "right" time.

Sorry for the lack of answer back on that one..... but with the loss of my grandmother on my mom's side. I lost a bit of track on this one. But I realy do hope you hada good time. And perhaps i can meet up with you some othr time. I know you are a buisy lady.... but we will get something matched up someday.
not confusing at all my freind.... and I love thoughtful conversation when it is not the angry type. this is all well and good. And you takingthe "change" out is alright if it works for you as a personal amendment... but i always thought it meant the change in your own life and not completely in the world. If it meant the world I would have a while back suggested the thought of using the word " influence". Just my style. as far as teh reunion... I don't know... i have not heard anything about it... i thought reunions were supposedto get invites sent out. things like that. And you are supposed to share the little pics when you go.... and your progresses. And the people who are not those who have children should have little pics of what they have been doing. you have many pics of you doing your many prodjects along the way. bring those along. also if you have anyone you have met that have made differances to you.... pics of them along as well. Just because those of us who have kids base a large amount of our pride in out children...does not mean you have no reason for large confidance and satisfaction is what you have done... and now here i am making the message long. lol
well think on that and tell me what you think. blessed be
hey doll..... you made me smile the other day. you were the first one to ever quote to me ....be the change you wanna see in your life.... and i had to use that line talkin to a freind.... and i couldn't get rid of that smile.... the first thing he said was that it didn't sound like me and asked where i got it from.... i had to tell him. he has no idea who you are... but it still made me smile. thankyou. blessings and thanks.
YOOOO.....JB...What it is? 5 weeks and the devils spawn shall be a member of society. Granadma is coming down with EP in May.....I hope he is born by then.
