About me: "The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him, he is always doing both." -- Zen Buddhist Text
i love taking pictures.
i am a self-taught photographer.
i bought an inexpensive camera and started shooting "life" on black and white film.... and fell in love with high contrast images, unusual angles and textures. being a former actor, i started to photograph people and directing them to be comfortable and natural in front of the camera... now people are my favorite subjects.
after shooting the new york runway shows i fell in love with fashion photography
(check out my blog on being a photographer in the pit at fashion week)
lately i have been traveling to new places on different photography assignments.
i have shot most all of the major runway shows for the past 18 seasons and just recently wrapped a documentary about my life as a photographer which aired last month on a Canadian TV show called "Women on Top".
some of my thoughts on the fashion biz...
i would like to see a change in the fashion industry and i am working on projects now that show "another side" on what the industry considers to be beauty.
i like photographing "non-typical" models and people who's beauty is more than skin deep. i will be posting more my new work on this subject in the coming months.
some new photography work here....
thoughts on life in general...
i love living in nyc... the diversity of race, religion, sexual orientation, traditions.... why does anyone want people to all be the same? how boring would that be?
i am hoping to begin pre-production on a film that i wrote about an innocent man living on death row... more on that soon.
my favorite past-times are watching obscure indie films and documentaries at the local
art house theatres, alone time with a good book, working on my mac, good food and wine with friends where we talk about art, movies, life....
...but most importantly, i have a deep desire to find ways to:
1) work with people i like and respect.
2) create a community of artists that do their ART for more than just $...
...those who are searching for ways to use their talents to make the world
a better place for the less fortunate.
3) surround myself with those who care about what is happening on this planet...
...from the animals and environment, to people in other parts of the world who need our help.

some of my fashion photography...
CAKE - Images in a fine art series captured by photographer Jodi Jones about the roll of women in the future, ironically referencing Marie Antoinette's quote 'Let them eat cake!'
WHITE STORY - Images in a fine art series captured by photographer Jodi Jones about the juxtaposition between the gender roles between male and female as they appear in gesture and posture. Referencing the Phantom of the Opera with a feminine twist and using universal symbols subtly, like the yin-yang.
TOP HAT - Images in a fine art fashion series captured by photographer Jodi Jones. Playing with the idea of 'handsome,' 'beautiful' and 'strength' as they apply to visual metaphors of gender.
