""The singing, musicianship and production on "est. 1980" are very good. Jody's writing style reminds me of David Lowery from Cracker/Camper Van Beethoven, and also of Ben Folds...I am enjoying it a lot." (2005) Quote by Shawn Mullins"
Jody Aaron is a Southern-Bred Soulful Singer-Songwriter with convoluted Acoustic Guitar stylings and a contemporary flair for melodic tunes. Few artists can take rock, alternative, and pop and mix them all into a new sound, but Jody Aaron does it well.
Raised along white sands of Clearwater, FL, Jody's natural surroundings helped shape his relaxed, honest sound. His youth group songleading skills along with his father's taste in music led Jody to emulate musicians like Harry Chapin, Sarah Mclachlan, and Dave Matthews to name a few. Jody has composed music for CNN and VISA, and has been seen and heard at venues across the U.S. Massive Internet exposure has helped him gain fans worldwide. In 2003, Jody's distinct sound won him first place in CNN's Intn'l Talent Search and the following year, he was brought in as the opening act. In 2004, he was a finalist in VH-1's Intn'l "Song of the Year" Competition. 2004 brought more success as Jody's song; "All I Wanted" was chosen as Song of the Day on Garageband.com. Jody's release, est. 1980, is receiving int'l airplay.
Jodys songs evoke universal emotions of love, hate, hurt, loneliness, and self-struggle while addressing todays world issues.
Jody has taken his folk roots, and his love for Pop melodies, and Alternative music, and created his own unique sound which he self-brands as Pop-Rock for your Soul.
Jody has lived and gigged around NYC for the past two years, playing 20+ live shows a year, and is now making the move to Southern California to explore new opportunity out west.

It's been a minute since I've said hi. Well, I'm hosting a party @ HOME tonight (W27th St. b/w 10th & 11th). Just say you're on NYVICECITY guestlist and you shouldn't have any issues coming through. We'll have drinks and great music spun by DJ Soul, so try to come early (before 1am)! See you there!
Just wanted to let you know that I am the featured performer tonight at the Open Mic held at The Riverside in Danielson, CT!! Music starts at 9pm and there is NO COVER!!
This is our first time at this venue and we could really use your support... please help us out if you can.
We will be playing here again on April 13th (ooohhh Friday the 13th!!) with Steven Bacon! There will be a cover of $7 and this show also starts at 9pm.
Hope you can make it to one (or both) of these shows... I hear they have great food too!
Thanx for the friend request and the interest in our music... If y'all get a chance, and so feel inclined to do so, pass it to someone else deserving. Holler... at the sky.
Hope you are living up on V-Day - but please dont forget March 20th: Every 14th of February you get the chance to display your fondness for your wife or girlfriend by showering her with gifts flowers dinner shows and any other baubles that women find romantic. Fact is ...guys feel left out. There's no special holiday for the ladies to show their appreciation for the men in their life. Men as a whole are either too proud or just too embarrassed to admit it. Which is why a new holiday has been created. March 20th is now officially "Steak & Blowjob Day." Simple, effective and self-explanatory...this holiday has been created so your ladies can have a day to show her man just how much she loves him. No cards, no flowers no special nights on the town-the name of the holiday explains it all...just a steak and a BJ. That's it. This twin pairing of Valentine's Day and Steak & Blowjob Day will usher in a new age of love as men everywhere will try THAT much harder in February to ensure a more memorable March!
