When Jody McDowell began playing the piano at the early age of 14, he immediately proved that his talents were more than ordinary. In the year 2000 - now a grown man - Jody graduated from the Police Academy for the State of Tennessee, and by doing so, achieved one of his many dreams. Jody McDowell had become apart of the Portland City Police Force. In 2004, Steve Shepard, life long friend and Keyboard player of Ronnie McDowell, resigned. Everyone was astonished by the sudden departure of their dear friend, and wondered how they could ever find a replacement. Though they wouldn’t have to look too far. Jody’s county service days had come to an end, and it was obvious to the newly elected tour manger - drummer Ronnie Dean McDowell Jr. - that there was only one man more than suitable for the job. What was supposed to be a temporary stand-in engagement, soon became a fulltime career. Jody had accomplished yet another dream, and began touring as his “uncle Ronnie’s” keyboard player. I personally believe Jody has become an irreplaceable addition to the McDowell crew.
