Heroes
So this is the place where I list my heroes. However, since most of my heroes (with exception to my family, friends, and other loved ones) are listed in the 'Who I'd Like to Meet' section, I am going to use this space for some quotes. Memorable quotes are not always, but often spoken or written by individuals who are heroic in their own way. It seems fitting.
"Fuck it Dude, let's go bowling."
-Walter Sobchak
"Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly."
-The Dalai Lama
"Imagination is the one weapon in the war against reality."
-Anonymous
"The man who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The man who walks alone is likely to find himself places no one has ever been."
-Alan Ashley-Pitt
"True friends stab you in the front."
-Oscar Wilde
"Never forget that only dead fish swim with the stream."
-Malcolm Muggeridge
"Whenever you fall, pick something up."
-Oswald Avery
"No really great man ever thought himself so."
-William Hazlitt
“For helping me to grow, I owe a lot I know, to all the girls I've loved before.”
-Willie Nelson
"To alcohol, the cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems!"
-Homer Simpson
"Payday came and with it beer."
-Rudyard Kipling
"As long as George Bush is in the White House, I'm going to keep cheating on my taxes."
-Anonymous Old Man in a thrift store
"Keep dreaming."
-Jon Keithley
"The thing that most people don't realize is that it's warmer to have long hair; everybody wants to be warm. People with short hair freeze easily. Then they try to hide their coldness, and they get jealous of everybody that's warm. Then they become barbers or congressmen. A lot of prison wardens have short hair. Have you ever noticed that Abraham Lincoln's hair was much longer than John Wilkes Booth's?"
-Bob Dylan
"I never wanted to be a movie actor. I started out on the stage. The first time I was invited out here [Los Angeles], I turned it down. Then Michael was born and I needed money, so I came. Sometimes, the thing that ties you down sets you free."
-Kirk Douglas
"No matter what, the name George W. Bush will not be on the ballot this year."
-Barack Obama
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."
-Jimi Hendrix
"Be the change you want to see in the world."
-Ghandi
"You can't write, if you can't relate."
-Beck
"If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there."
-George Harrison
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
-Albert Einstein
My name is Joseph Taormina. Twenty-six years ago I was born in Great Falls, Montana. Montana will always be my second home. Ontario, Oregon is my hometown and will always be a part of me and a part of what made me who I am and who I will continue to grow to be. I’ve got an amazing, loving family and feel blessed to be able to say this. I am extremely fortunate to have the love and support that is given to me by them. The same can be said of my friends.
I enjoy a great number of things, most of which are in some way a part of the world of art. I draw. I act. I write. I play a bit of music. I rollerblade. I create. Of all of these things, my biggest passion is film. Working in the film industry is what I plan on doing with my life. I want nothing to do with being famous, having a lot of money, or anything else that is associated with the whole Hollywood scene. I want to make films that will touch, move, inspire, and entertain people as much as some of the greatest films have done so for me. I can think of nothing more satisfying and rewarding than being a part of something that touches millions of people, in millions of ways, throughout the world.
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone in love with life. Movers. Shakers. Friends. Lovers. Sisters. Brothers. Anyone who wants to meet me. The pioneers of rollerblading. Anyone who doesn't want to meet me. Everyone who rollerblades for the love of it. Michaelangelo. Leonardo da Vinci. Tom Hanks. Sean Penn. Steven Spielberg. Martin Scorcese. Johnny Depp. Clint Eastwood. Jack Nicholson. Marlon Brando. Willie Nelson. Tom Petty. Ben Harper. Bob Dylan. The Beatles. Johnny Cash. Hunter S. Thompson. Che Guevara. Keith Richards. Chris Sharma. etc
