Jan & Jo became interested in music at the age of thirteen through “Feedback’, a bluesrock band influenced by The Who, ZZ Top and Canned Heat. That seemed not to be what they were looking for, so they decided to search for more.
One day, Jo listened to the radio and all of a sudden he heard Elmore James singing ‘The Sky is Crying’, and the light started to shine! That was what he was looking for, he just had to learn how to play that slide! Jo called his friend Jan and he also got caught by the beauty of this music. But you don’t play the blues like that, you have to practice, also learn more about the history of the Blues culture.
Jan found his inspiration through the masters: Sonny Boy Williamson I & II, Howlin’ Wolf and others. Jo started to study the guitar styles of Elmore James, Son House, Robert Johnson, Freddie McDowell and others.
Two years later they became a performing duo, named J ‘n’ Js Deltablues. Jan & Jo are still young, they realize that there’s a long way ahead. However, the love for this wonderful music will be their guide.
The boys have the feeling that there’s not so much Delta Blues played in Belgium, more reasons for them to play it. It gives them a good feeling, dive into the blues, expressing emotions. The duo has not the intention to imitate the old masters, no need for that to. They do it because they love it, they also do it reminding the statement “You will only become a master if you are willing to learn forever”.

Met onze 3e activiteit van het jaar proberen we eens iets nieuws. We gaan een heuse "Jamsessie" organiseren. Deze zal doorgaan op zondag 25 mei vanaf 14u in "Zaal Rubenshof", naast de kerk in Eppegem-Zemst (http://users. telenet. be/rubenshof/rubenshof/).
Wat houdt dit in ? Onder begeleiding van "The Excello's" kunnen, al dan niet beginnende, muzikanten een paar nummertjes kommen mee 'jammen'. Je hoeft niet met versterkers of drumstellen te zeulen, The Excello's zijn zo vriendelijk hun materiaal ter beschikking te stellen. Je instrument kan je best wel meebrengen.
Om praktische redenen zou het wel leuk zijn een seintje te geven (klaksonbluesclub@hotmail.com) om te melden welk instrument je zal spelen, eventueel de toonaard waarin er gespeeld zal worden en, uiteraard, je (artiesten)naam.
Alle bluesliefhebbers zijn natuurlijk van harte welkom, de ingang is gratis en aangezien het een zondagnamiddag is, kunnen de kinderen ook eens mee.
