"With twenty-two TV appearances, including BBC, ITV, Sky Virgin and Freeview, and much activity over the past 12 months, it is not surprising that during a survey conducted throughout the UK and Ireland, Joe Blanks was found to be the most recognisable drummer by the general public when compared to seven other drummers one would normally consider to be 'more famous'.
Joe is a young musician of extra-ordinary ability and drive. In between performing drum clinics (supporting Thomas Lang, Horatio Hernandez, Robin Guy etc.), doing live session work and touring, Joe runs his own recording studio (Jelly Lane Studio) and helps run Stafford's leading music store 'Guitar & Son'.
Since he started performing, he has played with such names as REEF, The Blue Men, Blacktop Coalition, Albany Down and The Paul Poulton Project. In addition, he has been support to Daniel Bedingfield, Liberty X and Darren Hayes. He was twice winner on BBC 2's 'Let Me Entertain You' (as a solo drummer), presented his own prize-winning news report on 'Newsnight' and his documentary 'Sticks, Licks and Paradiddles' was the winner at the 'Stafford Film Festival' (subsequently shown around the country). .
At only 17, and with a whole lifetime's career ahead of him, Joe Blanks has become the top solo performing drummer in the UK with a fast-growing reputation amongst young and old alike. And with the launch of his career as a solo recording artist later this year, his DVD 'The Young Drummer's Guide' and continued press and media coverage, Joe would make an ideal long-term partner for any drum equipment manufacturer or signed band with good prospects. He is a strong campaigner against drugs, gives much of his time to supporting charities and has worked as a junior consultant on crime related matters for Crimestoppers.
