Basically im trying to make music that moves your heart
and soul as well as your feet! But that direction could change over night.
At the
minute im Recording my Debut Album In my home studio but ive also been recording with Award winning Producer Chris Potter (the Verve, The Rolling
Stones, U2) and im really happy with how that’s going.
On The gigging front, I already have over 200 solo gigs under my belt, Im trying out
New instruments on stage and taking influences from loads of musicians and music,
Including a lot of dance music. In 2008 the highlights on the gigging front have to include Glasgowbury music festival, A fantastic gig with the Inishowen Gospel Choir, a gig with Duke Special in Letterkenny, and playing 4 sold out shows opening for The Script!
Im also writing and recording with quite a few established artists, namely the legends that are
Paul Oakenfold and Groove Armada. Two songs that I have written will be found on Oakenfolds new album due out in 2009! Two of my songs have been remixed
By Perfecto DJ Liam Shachar, and my song ‘On all my Sundays’ has been released on the
Perfecto label.
2009 will see the release of film "Heartless" starring Jim Sturgess (who recently played the lead in the film "21"). I have been fortunate enough to have been handed the job of producing the soundtrack for Heartless, as well as providing vocals on the songs that are to be used in the film. this was a whole new experience for me, and it is another side to music which i can certainly see myself doing more of in the future if the opportunities arise!
SO WHY JOE ECHO? ...Simple really, I wanted to re-invent myself in everyway and I
started with the name...I wanted a name that was fresh and that I could relate to.
My grandfather’s name was Joe, my favorite guitar is an old banged up EKO acoustic,
so JOE ECHO was born!
