Bio
33 years old, grew up in Hong Kong and started studying the piano at age 6. By 11 I had reached grade 4 and stopped lessons in favour of the guitar. I also studied drums from age 12 to 14. At age 14 I moved to England and formed a band at school, playing guitar and singing lead vocals. At 18 I went to Manchester Metropolitan University to study Philosophy, Psychology and film studies. Here I joined another band this time as a drummer. The band toured around venues in Manchester but split when their courses came to an end. I then went on to study Sound Engineering at the School of Sound Recording in Manchester, a good course which spurned the likes of 808 State and Badly Drawn Boy. It was also where The Stone Roses recorded Sally Cinnamon. After graduating with 89% I moved down to London in 2001 where I started work experience at The Dairy Studios in Brixton. At this time I gained experience as an assistant engineer working on sessions such as Duran Duran, Elbow and Doves. After 8 months at the Dairy I got a job at Soho Recording Studios as a full time assistant, working on sessions such as Didos second album. After 6 months the Engineer went freelance and I moved up into the role of Engineer in November 2002. Since then I have engineered sessions for the likes of Paul McCartney, The Neptunes, Kano, Sway, Shystie and Akon in the urban scene as well as pop artists such as Rachel Stevens, Lemar and Charlotte Church. I did engineering and additional production on the 3 million selling number 1 album This is the life by Amy Macdonald. -
