VEZZEN (Joe Gosalvez) is a Vallejo, California native now residing in Hawaii, that draws inspiration and influence from synthesizer virtuosos such as Herbie Hancock, to the avant-garde emcees Anti-Pop Consortium, and everything in between. His roots stem from a bloodline of musicians as his grandfathers are acclaimed Filipino classical and jazz composer/bassist Angel Pena and studio session jazz bassist Johnny Gosalvez. He is able to synthesize these sounds into music that represents and appreciates where he has been and where he is going. His beats are lo-fi but don’t let that draw you away, as he crafts grimy, hypnotic, progressive and most importantly a continuous flow of sound that keeps your head in tune with the beat.
