Joe Greens Connection
Featuring the nephew of Fleetwood Mac founder, Peter Green, Joe Greens Connection was founded by Joe Green (vocals, guitar and saxophone), Rob Sigston (bass and vocals), and Ian Turner (drums and vocals). We have played together in numerous bands for many years, and after an inspirational jam session with Peter Green, we decided to form a new band with the help of Justin Halley (guitar), and Mick Lewis (keyboards).........
In the Spring of 2004, we proceeded to write our own material. As well as these tracks, we also cover early Fleetwood Mac songs as Joes vocal sound and style is very similar to his uncles.........
The bands own material is a blues based sound with soul, funk and Latin influences from a range of artists from Santana to Robert Cray and James brown to Robert Johnson. Most of the band members can diversify with Ian (drums), being a Grade 8 pianist, Rob (bass), an accomplished guitarist and a licentiate of the London College of music, and Joe (saxophone and guitar) drums........
We have a wide age range in the band, with Mick at 60 and Justin, who is only 21. This influences the feel and sound of the band. We are predominantly based on Canvey Island in Essex, where many great bands such as Dr Feelgood, and Eddie and the Hot Rods originated, although Ian is from Ely in Cambridgshire......
We recently submitted some self penned tunes to "Cream" lyricist and producer Pete Brown. Pete liked the material and came to a rehearsal to hear more. With Pete Browns help, we have recorded our efforts with Pete producing and co-writing with us. We have a five-track EP, which will be available for down load from our web site soon. Midnight Special Blues radios Listeners Votes currently place us at No.1, 2 and 15. We are also getting varying amounts of exposure from other American radio stations. Our next step is to prepare to get out and gig. Any venues wishing to hear our music performed with energy and passion can contact us via our website.............
