Joe Le Taxi & the Zydeco Band play hardcore Louisiana Zydeco. A mix of authentic Creole blues, sleazy shuffles, old school waltzes influenced by the raw dance music of such legends as John Delafose and Bebe Carriere to the more funky, Zydeco Nouveau style influenced by Boozoo Chavis, Beau Jocque and Keith Frank.

Now with an energetic, fresh, new line up, Joe Le Taxi's Zydeco Band continues to pack the dance floors across the UK and Europe with their laid back, Zydeco groove that is guaranteed to keep that dance floor jumping!.



Joe Le Taxi & The Zydeco Band are:

REES WESSON. Formerly with folk/reggae hotshots 'Edward II', Rees became Joe Le Taxi after a mind expanding trip to the swamplands of Louisiana. Rees is backed up by some of the best musicians on the UK Zydeco scene which has seen them pack dance floors all over Europe, more recently selling out their Saturday night, headline slot, at the Bristol Cajun & Zydeco Festival 2006.

SUE REID. The newest addition to band, Sue has taken over the job of Scrubboard player from Dan and has hit the ground running; and with a list of gigs lined up this year as long as your arm it's in at the deep end for Susan Perfect! Sue's Scrubboard playing is second to none as are her amazingly soulfull backing vocals!

ANDY WATSON. Now in his 9th year with Joe Le Taxi and more recently seen with 'Z Funk' and Lil’ Jim & Deepzone Zydeco. His rock steady, double-pump, Zydeco Nouveau style has made him the first choice drummer to back the latest rising star from Louisiana, Leon Chavis, when he tours in Europe!

JACQUI SAVAGE. Jacqui has established herself as the Queen of the UK Zydeco scene. With her funky bass lines and cute smile, 'Beau Jacque' has won the hearts of many a Zydeco Cowboy.

KEV TORNE. Wicked riffs and a wickeder sense of humour - file under 'Guitar Hero'! When not playing, Kev can usually be found strutting his stuff on the dance floor… he loves to dance the Zydeco!
