Musician born in Nashville, Tennessee (USA) and living in Barcelona, Spain since 1997. Perhaps inspired congenitally by his violinist grandmother who passed when he was 2, and starting with an early diet of American funk and rhythm & blues, his self-taught exploration of different musical styles on the electric BASS led to being awarded a chance to attend a known music school in Boston.
Since arriving in Barcelona, Joe has had the pleasure of playing with a great number of talented musicians from many walks of life. After living in different parts of the world, he's enjoying the privilege of playing in a myriad of eclectic projects, covering styles that range from African to flamenco fusion, funk, blues, punkabilly, musical theatre and more... bassically from the heart.
In recent years, Joe's playing has centered around variations of rock music [whether it's a.., v., i.., or h., etc... it doesn't really matter]. In addition to performing live with some of the more gifted musicians in town, he is also called for studio recording with various bands and artists. The projects he's been involved with include Bocanegra, SUNSTATION, Cece Giannotti, Alex Warner, 08001 and CANIBALA.
In addition to working on music for TV, film, advertising, he has also been a regular contributing journalist for Total Guitar magazine (Spain) and has been published in Bass Player, Guitarra Actual and Bajista magazines, covering numerous interviews, concerts, CDs and gear tests. Joe is also professionally involved with the film and advertising industries as a copywriter, translator and voice actor.
