I work as a guitar technician/backline specialist in the professional entertainment industry. I have worked closely with Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ace Frehley, Smash Mouth, Atreyu, OK GO, and others. My passion is playing guitar. I have played in bands for the last 30 years. I want to find another band to play with right now. Not playing is making me crazy. I know that I can play really good. I can play the shit out of metal, hard rock, and I can also play blues like I was meant to do that. I can speed pick, sweep pick, finger pick, whatever I want to play really. I also love to entertain. Not just stand there and play my guitar and think I look cool, but I actually like to put on a show. I'll jump, balance my guitar on my chin, play it behind my head, behind my back, jump on your table and put on a little show just for you. I have always been a ham and always will be. Playing live music is what it is all about for me. Teching for the pros drives me crazy because I am so envious 'cause I want to be up there. But I will wait my turn. I feel I am the best tech in the business, because I tech exactly how I would want someone to tech for me. And it seems like I always try to please other people before I please myself.
Music
All music. I have a copy of OK GO's new album, (release date undetermined at this time) and I have been playing it over and over. I like distorted guitar blues, old stuff like Roger Miller, Dean Martin, Marty Robbins. I listen to guitar stuff with the really good, jaw dropping guys like, George Lynch, Randy Rhoads, Michaelangelo Batio, Bill 'The Buddha' Dickens. I really liked the band I played in for 5+ years, Dragwater, but there was to much drama for that to last. (teamwork is good, it really is, try it). And, if it wasn't for Ace Frehley, I wouldn't be in this mess I am in right now. He got me started playing guitar and it was very surreal working for him for so long. I really really like the whole 70's music scene. Old school rock is the very backbone of all the stuff you hear today. Journey, Aerosmith, Heart, ELO, Sabbath, Boston, Steve Miller Band, KISS, Alan Parson's Project, Head East, Ram Jam, the list goes on.
Movies
I like good 'A' movies. Mostly action stuff. Science Fiction is hella bitchin'. And SMART Comedies~!!! I really like Coen Brothers movies, the Farrelly Brothers movies. Those movies could keep you entertained for years. Even after you see their movies, you end up talking about them and thinking them and quoting script lines,...
Television
Reality TV is starting to drive me bonkers. I really like paranormal stuff. Music Documentaries, Concert's, Fox News, Military stuff, crazy videos, War Stuff...
Books
I haven't read a book in so long. I need to get back into it. I read mostly rags like Music Connection, Maxim, Blender, music rags. Rolling Stone has gotten too liberal for me. I love Hunter S. Thompson (RIP). I like foreign music press. That is one way to tell what is REALLY going on in the REAL music world~!!!
