I started playing guitar when i was 16 yrs old in High School. It was really nothing more than a hobby at the time. I took lessons from a neighbor nearby who taught me the basics and ultimately ignited my passion for guitars and music.
It was through him i heard of the country singer Brad Paisley, a modern day telecaster master. After hearing what he was able to do with his music, as well as other artists of the same sort (such as Brent Mason, and of course my teacher Shawn), i was driven to buy and electric guitar myself.
I bought my first telecaster (a 2003 Highway 1 Texas Telecaster) about 1 1/2 years after i started learning on my mom's old Simon & Patrick 6 string acoustic. It's been a learning experience ever since.
Gradually building on the skills i already had, i aquired tastes for musical genres and styles i never thought i'd ever enjoy, such as Blues, Jazz and Metal. I gained a greater appreciation for the musical stylings of my already favorite country and rock artists.
Guitar playing took me through high school and eventually into university where i was studying for a BSc. in Biological Sciences. But inevitably, i found that the study of Biology and other academic sciences was a whole different world compared to that of High School. This lead me to decide to postpone my education while i worked to save money instead of spend it on an education i wasn't sure i wanted.
In this time i have discovered that my true passion was music and guitar. Still building on my skills of lead guitar and other techniques associated with it (such as improvisation, studio recording and songwriting), i'm currently planning on attending Ambrose University College in Calgary, Alberta starting Fall of 2008 as a full time Music Major.
I don't know what will come of it but for now i'm going to enjoy the ride, pursuing the thing i enjoy the most!
Just thought I would send a little love of Jesus your way... A cross to take on your myspace, where ever you go... Remember who gave you the gift.. and how proud we are that you are goin to college to pursue your music. I am proud of you !!!! AWESOME!!

Well, once you get a G-bender, you'll be hurting your shoulder with your non-bender guitars! Sometimes I forget that my Les Paul doesn't have one and pull my arm nearly out of socket.
