Singer/songwriter Joel Pickering has been a part of the Central Florida music scene since 2000. His songs are introspective, and influenced by a wide range of musical genres such as folk, country, rock, alternative -- each of which break through in the catalog of songs Joel has written over the years. Joel was encouraged to record his first CD after a friend used “My Song” from an old demo for an action adventure kayaking video, "Creatures of Habit". After receiving numerous inquiries from people around the country who heard and liked the song, he decided to take it to the studio. In June of 2005 Joel entered the studio with David Schweizer at Richter Records. The accomplished Anthony Cole added drums and bass, and Brian Chodorcoff contributed his talent on guitar. "Hiding in Books" was released in December of 2006. The debut effort is true to the honest, soulful identity of Joel's live performances.Purchase Hiding In Books here.
Here is a short commercial for My Song which was featured on the Creatures of Habit film, shot by Trey Chace and Ology Productions.
