So much can change in just one year. A year ago, Joel Schrank was a Pastoral Ministries major at Concordia University, Wisconsin, preparing to become a Lutheran Pastor. Struggling to write songs and only a mediocre pianist, he made a decision, sparked by a passing comment made by a close friend. He would put his plans of becoming a Pastor on hold and devote himself to another type of ministry: music. Joel worked, relentlessly, practicing his craft for hours a day. He continued writing songs, drawing inspiration from his relationships with friends and most importantly, with God. Through the grace of God, he coordinated and put on three independent concerts before he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Today, Joel is still a struggling musician, learning more, everyday, about the musical world he is just beginning to discover, but he is continually blessed with the people he meets and every opportunity he is given to share his music and his message of God’s unconditional love for his people.
