Just Joe Mac, a pretty guitar and some lightning boots. On the new stuff, I'm helped out by Chris Yeardsley on Bass, Josh Cook on Drums and Nick Long (from Dancing Lotus) on violin.
Influences
I like loud glam stuff and clever folky stuff. Iggy Pop, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, as well as Elliott Smith, Bon Iver, Johnny Flynn, Two Gallants. Anything with soul, whether its dumb or not.

Y..alright. My name is Joe Mac and this is my page dedicated to getting people to listen to my songs and come to my gigs.
I write many songs and have been known to play quite a few gigs. I write about all sorts of things, but in particular I'm a big fan of lyrics that have a bit of bite to them, quirky tunes and bluesy guitar solos. Hopefully you'll find some of these elements in my songs.
I'm always playing guitar, whether it's in front of some old men at a bar, jamming with the Joe Mac Band, or packing out venues with Dancing Lotus (Lincoln's only 7-piece hip-hop/blues/soul collective!) At present I've recorded two Joe Mac albums (one unreleased), played on two Dancing Lotus albums, and released a 4 track EP of The Joe Mac Band. I would love it if you took a listen to any of it!
I have presented a rock radio show on Siren 107.3 FM, and written reviews for Rockfeedback.com, Lincolnbands.com and Our Iron Lung music blog. Keep an eye out here for more developments/releases/gigs/rambling blogs.
MY FIRST MUSIC VIDEO! ..GROW UP LET DOWN SWING.. ENJOY ;)
thanks man, appreciate the feedback... The mixing problems are due to my lack of decent equipment and software, that's literally the loudest I could manage for the backing. Hadn't thought of Klaxons or Kasabian, I've been told White Lies ish, which I'm not too sure about, and also that it sounds 80's which I'm not sure about. Hopefully get into a studio soon, but to be honest these songs are just me laying down demo's so I can remember them, until I get a band when I can actually play them live. Hopefully relocating to Brighton for uni next year so we'll see what happens. Any support slots coming up, let me know boyo x
Watched the Dancing Lotus vid about the excursion down to London for giggages! It looked loads of fun! Its always great going down to play in London, the crowds are so much better than some of the ones we have in Lincoln. Lincolnions just seem a bit more reserved...shame really!
How is everything going anyway? You snowed in?! I passed my theory test by the way :-) funny story though, will tell you on Friday...
...which leads me to saying: See you then! Can't wait to see your band in action, you were awesome at the Mix Xmas Party.
okay cool. well i shall talk to a bunch of people and see if i can get there. sounds like it should be a good night. are u playing the next youngplugged btw? ive heard its a film night but they are still having some live music apparently.
yeah i once started moby dick but got as far as the descriptions of Quequeg and found myself in need of more excitment. bookclub would be great! that sounds cool. how old do you have to be to get in the mezz bar, thats the only problem i have with getting into gigs since im not yet 16.
sounds good man. yeah i enjoyed lord of the flies but ive heard that paradise lost is a bit full on. i also have some silver boots, they are a joy. ive read quite a lot recently, finally got round to reading the subterraneans (cant remember how to spell it) and loved it. also read to kill a mockingbird, the bonfire of the vanities, bouvard and pecuchet, loads and loads of stuff. i think im gonna read far from the maddening crowd next.
when are u next playing a gig in lincoln man? i was gonna come and see you, elliott and danny bell this weekend at the biv but its been cancelled :( x
computer. My main instrument is drums only taught myself guitar over the last few years, so I'd love to record the drum tracks, but I don't have the equipment. I'm loving your reinvention still, proper bluesy x
Gutted we couldn't stick round to hear your band last night, s'just the last bus home is at 11. It really annoyed me as I've been wanting to see you guys live since I first heard of you :-(
I will make it to another gig soon anyway. So yeah, hope to see you again soon man, are you at Kind on Tues?
I was framed haha! It wasn't as funny as getting trapped in a traffic cone (which happened on the same night...)! Long story! It can wait for tonight :-)
Wow sounds like your quite the chef, if you're able to make something nice out of cider!
Don't feel you have to save them, I dont't actually like pear...or any other type of cider i've tried really! Although i'm told raspberry cider is noce...and i do like raspberries so could be the drink for me!
Thanks for last night mate its great to have you on :) if you wanna play again let us know we'd love to have you back. It would be great to have your full band (if we can fit you all on the stage) Hope all is well see you soon. Adam
