Joe and Melanie are aspiring professional musicians that want to eventually go full-time into their music career. Melanie Johnson: Melanie is a solid fiddler w/ classical roots. She has been studying old-time, blues, and bluegrass music for several years and has developed a strong, soothing style. Melanie's vocal abilities are her forte. Her bluesy alto voice will make you have chills! Joe Johnson: Joe met a local Haralson County, Ga. musician named Harl Baggett when he was 10 yrs. old. Joe was influenced early by Baggetts blues/honkytonk approach to playing music. Joe settled in on the banjo as his main instrument at the age of 16. Over the years Joe also has added guitar, mandolin, dobro, upright bass, blues harp, and electric guitar/bass to the list of instruments that he is fluent in. His banjo playing comes alive with hard drive, single note runs, and chromatic bursts throughout his improvised breaks. Though at times unorthodox, Joe's banjo stands up with the staunchest of traditionalists, especially his clawhammer exhibitions. Joe is a studio musician available for session work.
Joe and Melanie are currently preforming acoustic country/progressive bluegrass with their group The Joe & Melanie Johnson Band and the bluegrass group Soul Purpose and collaborating with various other artists. JESUS CHRIST IS LORD

Hey folks, thanks for the add! I've heard about you guys word of mouth, and the tunes on your profile are great! I've always liked bluegrass (Appalachian, folk?) from arm's length but gradually developed a deeper love for it. Hope to catch your gig someday soon!
All the best from your pal in Talladega, Richard Scott Brown
