After over 80 performances in 2008/2009 alone, it's fair to say singer/songwriter Joe Murphy has become one of Adelaide’s best known and hard working Blues and roots Musicians!!! playing for years in the 90’s amongst Dublin’s (Ireland) vibrant music scene Joe moved to Adelaide in 2005. Since then Joe has played all the major venues in Adelaide and performed in Melbourne and on the East coast.
Joe Murphy has shared the stage with some of Australia’s finest Musicians: Cal Williams Jnr (International Guitar festival, Simon Kelly (WA), Jackson Firebird (Mildura) and Emily Smart (SA) to name a few.
Joe Murphy’s music has been described as having a strong Indie roots sound with beautiful melodies and strong catchy lyrics.
Joe Murphy released his first solo EP in 2008 to a sold out Wheatsheaf Hotel. The EP was warmly received and enjoyed amongst the Adelaide music scene.
Joe Murphy’s latest Internet released EP ‘ Movin Up’ has recently taken a march into the top 20 on the Triple J unearthed charts. His songs Movin Up and Voodoo Magic have received fantastic reviews.
All music written by Joe Murphy. Lyrics by Joe Murphy and Susana Hartzer.
