LIGHT THE BLACK SKYE
Like many artists, Steven Ossana and Joe Nassar were exposed to different music genres. These influences can be heard in their unique but yet familiar sound created under “Light the Black Skye”. It fills the listener with unconditional emotion, mere pleasure and raw indulgence of life past and present. The music itself finds beauty in darkness and lifts the veil of confusion within the lightness of being.

The music creates orchestral-like compositions that are stirring, haunting, and memorable. Every song is carefully crafted with passion and integrity; every live performance is dramatic and unique. Those in attendance find themselves singing beautiful melodies, leaving their troubles behind.
Light the Black Skye is everything the band’s name suggests. The music is filled with edgy yet uncomplicated sounds, catchy hooks & unique melodies you typically don't hear, transcending pure nakedness and passion for what they do.
The idea behind Light the Black Skye remains a powerful simple one. The music itself finds light in the darkness and lifts the veil of confusion within the beauty of being.
Formed in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2008, the essence of Light the Black Skye is singer- songwriter Joe Nassar and singer-songwriter and lead guitarist Steven Ossana.
Joe Nassar, whose voice has yet to be compared or placed amongst today’s genres, has worked on various projects over the years. His recent endeavor was being part of the Las Vegas band “Vent” which produced two albums and was well recognized on the local scene. Steven Ossana also worked on various projects and signed a recording deal with Polygram/Mercury Records with the band Rob Rule. Steven has also released three independent solo CD's for Winding Road Productions.
Recently joined by bassist Sean Newbert and drummer Joel Keith the band made their debut at the “House of Blues” in Las Vegas.
Light the Black Skye has both the sway and songwriting ability to appeal to a wide range of listeners. Their debut album is due out in July 2009. This is a fantastic, very well rounded album worthy of a listen.
The album recalls a time when music transcended beyond the pure likeness of music. It fills the listener with unconditional emotion, mere pleasure and raw indulgence of life past and present. It will make you wonder if there is indeed a likeness of something different within one’s own soul.
