Guitar: James Fortune... Bass: Scott Mullins... Drums: Fintan Hahnefeld...
Influences
Fathers, mothers, siblings, friends, ghosts, media, the smell of the earth, McGuyver, the weather, frozen vegetables, the sound of hands at work, thought in the hands, any forward thinking musician.....
Sounds Like
Furtive glances, the errant search for objectivity, waking up in fields, night sodomy, THE RAGING DOINK, urgent bliss, a call to arms, the farmer's scratching finger, the burrowing leech, the sweetest kiss, "All aboard", dropping the baggage, before it drops you. "Bite this please", all night jonesin, insane pleading, grinning golden teeth, reactions, wild dogs cry out in the night.
Come see us jiggy down in the diznust..
.....
Our first EP is now available to buy for a mere 5 papers! If you're interested you can get it at one at our gigs or at Plugd Records, Washington Street, Cork, or else get in contact via the web : joerubix@yahoo.ie. Its a hand-made job, a hand job, a job, jobless . . . . . . . . .
Joe Rubix are an award winning three piece instrumental group. They are based in Cork and are known for their explosive and dynamic live shows. The group consists of Fintan, James and Scott. Joe seems to appeal to people from all walks of life and their sound is far from easy to define. Thus, they are best seen live, to decide for yourself.
The tracks featured here were recorded in Fintan's house during the summer of 2007, using basic equipment and heart. They are currently writing new material and looking forward to tomorrow.

We're hosting 10 competitivelive music events over the summer and the best act from each event will go forward to play it out at the ‘LA or Busk’ Finals in Dublin. The overall winner will get a trip to Los Angeles to play a showcase event in front of music professionals!
How to enter 1. Collect 25 mastheads (that’s the title banner on the front page of the Sunday World). 2. Set up your band/artist profile on www. blastspace. com – you must write a band biography, including names, location, what instruments members play and a brief history. You must also upload at least 1 original music track (MP3) and two good quality band photographs. 3. Add ‘LA or Busk’ profile as a friend. 4. Send your 25 Sunday World mastheads along with the Sunday World application form to: LA or Busk Competition, Blastbeat Ltd, 7-8 Mount Street Crescent, Dublin 2, Ireland. Our panel of experts will then choose the best 8 bands for each event, and inform them of the event they have been chosen for. Please note that the panel’s decision is final.
There are both all ages and over 18s events and there are dates in Cork, Dublin, Galway, Belfast, Derry and Limerick so log onto www. blastspace. com/laorbusk for more details!
