Being a "soloartist" is just one of many things I do these days. I actually call myself a musician-artist who are lucky to work as a hired soldier in the missionfields of serving good music to the people, taking care of the low key side of the soundpicture, the bassy part, and do my best to create a floating and solid groove. The last year I have toured with Norwegian top artists such as Jørn Hoel, Anne Grete Preus and Herborg Kråkevik. In between all this I work for "Rikskonsertene" and do concerts in schools around Norway, performing my own little show, called BASSOVERSVEIS. At least that was the idea .... but I guess some sources of inspiration from influences shines through every now and then here and there .... but I presume I..d dare to say that nobody plays my AXE the way I do .... for the simple reason that not many cats play this Fender VI .... check out the basstard album ....
Jørun Bøgeberg, Bassplayer and singer, toured the world around with a-ha in the 90..s, plays his Fender VI 6 string bassguitar in a very personal way, released his second solo-album Basstard in May of 2006. The album contains songs with stories from a life built in a rootsy mood and a sonic atmosphere embraced by the special sounding Fender VI among other strings, voice and other musicianfriends contributing to the soundpicture . He occasionally tours with his own trio or performs all by himself, working a couple of untraditional axes and sings his own songs. First solo-album came out in 1996 titled "Songs From The Pocket". JB has been a musician for about three decades and has performed/recorded with people like Dr. John, Joe Cocker, Johnny Thunders, Tom Russell, Rick Danko, Savoy and a-ha among being a bassplayer appearing at about 80 different records the last 25 years. Ompakaras fele høres denne gangen ut som en Marimba , banjoen er bytta ut med stringswing flamenco gitar, og det trente øre vil høre et godt gammeldags 70 talls stueorgel vugge med.
