I don't claim to be a pro videographer, just a guitar player with iMovie. That hasn't stopped me from trying my hand at creating a moving image to go along with my songs. Stay tuned for more of these...
Keep On Talkin'
This song is about the masters of spin and the wave of the future that will wash over them. I did the video right before the November election which kicked a lot of these sleasy types out of government. But don't get too cocky, there's plenty more where they came from!
Nickel and Dime
I wrote this song because I got sick and tired of constantly being a target of incessant marketing. To be a citizen of the USA does not mean we need to give in to the mercantile consumer-driven culture if we don't want to. And I don't want to. I did the video in celebration of Buy Nothing Day

Sprung from the exurban sprawl of the I-95 corridor, Joe Shade is a songwriter that is at once musically relevant and strongly rooted in what can be considered the best of American and British popular rock. Inspired by the 45-rpm singles format, he writes catchy hook-laden songs that pull together diverse influences from Brit Pop greats as The Ray Davies, John Lennon and David Bowie along with classic American rockers such as Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Buddy Holly, to name just a few. Joe Shade is musically relevant because he plays a brand of music that is thankfully becoming popular again, a sort of “old school” for thinking people. His lyrics reflect our contemporary world: a confusing, sometimes scary place where there’s more than meets the eye. A world where love and truth collide with hostility and deceit. But it’s also about fun too. Let's escape from the daily trials that permeate our lives. Face up to the truth yes, but also have a good time!

Hey Joe, not sure if it was you, but I thought I saw you at the Billy Bragg show at the Birchmere. Great show, who would of thought you'd see Billy playing the Carpenters.
It was my pleasure to play "Rolling Storied Rover" on my weekly, 30-minute podcast featuring mainstream independent music. The direct link to the program is: http://indiemusicsampler.com/2007/09/14/ims-063/

Can't wait to have you out at Modern Times on the 29th! I won't be hosting the open mic tonight, but our man Bill is stepping up to the job. Should be fun! Anyhow, since I won't be there to plug our show next week, I'm making the myspace comment rounds :)
