About me:

"Who I am is not about me; it's about my God, because it's in Him and through Him that I will truly live. Jesus Christ defines who I am aspiring to become. I want to be so drastically different from those around me so that when people see me, they will see Christ who lives in me. I want to be mistaken for Jesus. He is the ruler and director of my life and it's in Him that I place my trust, and not in the things of this world. All that matters in this vapor of a life that we live is Christ. Deep down I think we know this, but for some reason we seem to live our lives doing the exact opposite--we live for what the world has to offer us RIGHT NOW. Don't get me wrong, we need money and basic ammendities just to survive on a daily basis, I'm not saying that we don't, but it shouldn't be our life-long passion to acquire those things when the God of the universe is waiting for us to come to Him. Our God is a jealous God and He hates it when we sin, and choose worldly things over Him (material things--like possessions, and immaterial things--like our time). God wants and does what's best for us, no matter how bad of a situation we think we're in. God HAS A PLAN and it WILL work together for good. As humans, we're naturally impatient, but we need to understand that He puts us through trials for a reason. We need to trust in God and to trust in His timing, patiently. In addition, God doesn't just give us what we want, like for instance: patience. Instead, He will often give us a situation to be patient in. And we are only going to learn and grow through our adversities, so to misinterpret these situations as bad and to not take action would simply be a mistake and a waste of our time. God will continue to allow similar things to tempt/effect us until we learn what He is trying to teach us. Again, God knows what's best for us, and He will never give us something that we can't handle. He desires a STRONG bond with us, and we need to be working at this relationship on a daily basis (just as you would with any other person) by talking to God in prayer and by digging into His word, the Bible, to see what He has to say through the teachings in the Scriptures. Once again, I know in our hearts that we realize this needs to be done, but for whatever reason we don't live our lives like we REALLY do. If we did, wouldn't we BE different? Wouldn't we ACT different? In the end, Christ is ALL that matters, and He is ALL that we should live for. When I get to the end of my life, I don't want to look back and see that I have wasted years of my life seeking the wrong thing. My greatest fear is not that I will be a failure in life, but that I will succeed in that which does not matter in eternity. I DON'T want to waste any more of my life seeking that which will not matter in eternity. I will follow Christ!"
